was wondering what everyone thought of this game. I'm thinking of taking BG at +33. They have 17 returning starters on a team that went 11-3 last year, including beating two big ten bowl teams.

I played the sooners at 32.5. In my opinion, BG will be lucky to score.

Poltergeist,

I like BG +33. I watched them play Ohio State to 17-24 in Columbus last year. Granted, that was last year, but BG has to be considered a "decent" team if not a good one.

Here's the big reason why I like BG to cover....OU will want to work on their running game. OU had a very weak running game last season, although it wasn't exposed until late in the season. They will want to give their true freshman phenom RB and the o-line (first and 2nd stringers) lots of reps and not over-exert anyone in week one, which will chew up clock.

OU is capable of winning 70-0 (as they did against Texas A&M last year), but I see the Sooners getting up by 4 TDs and then working on the run game, leaving the "backdoor" open for a Falcon cover. I see the Sooners scoring in the low to mid 40s, so if the Falcons can score 10-14 points on OUs 3rd & 4th stringers (and I think they can), they will cover. Of course, I could be wrong, but I love being up by 33 points at kickoff. GL

I got in at +34 on BG, the first game of the season is usually a experimental game, I think OU is the best team in the country but they would be hard pressed to put 34 up on BG, BG is going to be very good this year

The computers do not have as much input as the people in deciding this year's BCS teams. Therefore, blowouts come back into play. Oklahoma is one of the top two teams in the nation. They will come out pissed because of the lack of respect. The will pound Bowling Green.

Yeah, I think they want to make a statement. It's opening weekend and a chance to make a good impression, especially after USC struggled to get by VT.

Plus, OU is ruthless at home.

Look at what they did last year vs. aTm, OSU, and UT.

BG will be lucky to score with a new qb in there. OU might put up 35 by half.

agree that this one has the makings of a 63-0 game. the BG squad from 2003 and the BG squad from 2004 might as well be 2 different schools.

There are a lot of these blowout games early in the season - that is why the MAC is around. Easy money for the BG program.

Another blowout game appears to be Iowa over Kent. Iowa has to replace many starters but they still have that great OL and will pound the ball all day on the undersized Kent D.
