While in town last week I noticed this.
Certain places have always had alot of Asians working as BJ dealers, but many of them were American-born.
At Barbary Coast night shift, 2/3 (my best guess) of the black jack dealers were foreign females. Mostly from Ethiopia, Cuba, or Serbia. The Cuban dealers were among the worst I have seen in Las Vegas.
Also noticed quite a few cocktail waitresses with foreign accents at several casinos I visited last week.
Are the casinos receiving some type of credit for hiring immigrants or are they the majority of people attending dealer schools?
I realize some of the casinos probably pay crap for wages/tips, but cocktail waitresses at casinos like Mirage, etc probably make hefty cash.
Don't the local people apply for these jobs?
