People were willing to pay and the programming is vastly superior..Sirius/XM both blew the whole deal with BS buisness practices....
During the first years while we were slowing building a listener base, getting more investors aboard and had a climbing stack price with a good outlook Mel and his cronies siphoned off MILLIONS a month with stock option deals. Go back and research them in say 00,01,02...Mel ,etal would buy 500K options at .50 and the same day sell 500K they had bought previously at the going rate...This when the buisness was 4 or 5 years old AND HAD NEVER SHOWN 1 PENNY PROFIT.........0. In fact to this day Sirius has never shown 1 cent profit for even 1 quarter yet they (Mel and crew) have made millions each from stock options.

And dont put it beyond this shady bastard to think that by doing this right now and having ophra's fat ass on the payroll with also a nice multi million dollar job for her GF that he doesnt think theres shot at some BAILOUT money......

so is everyone selling what they hold for the .05 to .07/share that SIRI is currently worth or just holding on and hoping for a miracle?

luckily I didn't buy much (got in a .37), so I am on the fence as to whether to sell it now...the commission would be like 7% of the value for me!

to me I am holding to the end. I do not see any positive sign. PPP is correct in his analysis. But no one can throw up the terrestrial radio free argument. Public radio blows and there is absoluletly no comparison. Only someone who does not have satellite would make such an ignorant comment. The length of the merger and the merger itself killed this company. Also Ipods are the competition not commercial radio. I never listen to Stern and love no static 100 channel choices.

You really don't think that Stern is going to allow his shares to go to zero do you?

I don't think it is up to Stern. It is the debt holders. They get paid before common shareholders and if SIRI can't make a scheduled debt payment, the debt holders can force them into bankruptcy.

The Jew bastard told his radio listeners that Sirius stock was worth $15 a share and then filed notice to dump 34 million shares. His $500 million signing was excessive and then he received a $83 million bonus for new subscriber sign-ups.

Sirius is in debt to the tune of 3.3 Billion. In the current economic environment we are in, I don't see a complete take over by anyone. Why not let the company go bankrupt and pick up individual pieces for next to nothing. Sirius offering 100 off the lifetime subscription lately is bullshit. In my opinion, this is criminal behavior.

I could see a bridge loan if it strongly favors Ergen or Malone.

If it wasn't illegal he is was very smart. I guess that's why he doesn't care at this point. He has all his money already and and can get another fat deal if sirius folds.

Sirius definitely needs new management.

They have a fantastic product but took on too many unnecessary and extemporaneous expenses.

I personally never listen to Stern, I got Sirius for listening to NFL, NHL, CFB, CBB games. Small delay but better than internet radio and totally worth the $12/month IMO

huge turnaround for siri...up more than 20X since this thread... luckily I held on to what I had..did anyone else hold on and/or buy in when it was down to a nickel?

siri and united airlines are by far the best (% gain) performers in my portfolio...would not have figured that about six months ago
