I have no choice but to use TWC for my internet...My yearly deal expired and my phone/internet went to $71 per month, was $45-$55 the past 2 years. The phone is unlimited local/long distance. My speed for internet was standard, up to 15Mbps. They told me to keep the same speed, it was going up to $49 for the internet per month. I said what is your least, they said basic internet which is up to 2Mbps at a cost of $15 per month. I said give me that. So my total monthly bill will be around $40 (phone/internet). Well its been a day and there is no difference between 2.3Mbps and 15Mbps....Scam??

Those rates are "guaranteed" minimums. (and i use that term loosely) if its like Comcast (which are fuckin criminals) you probably have been running at 15-20 this whole time and only paying for the 2.3 min. but now that their avg speed for everyone is 15-20 they are trying to get some extra $ out of you.

Go to speedtest.net and run a test.

I was always around 15+Mbps using the speed test...I switched last night to the 2Mbps speed and after the test I come in at 2.3Mbps as of today

Does anyone have Google Fiber? Just curious.

They've been expanding into parts of Utah and Austin, TX. KC was the first city they went in. It works best in small/mid-sized cities for now.

Already outdated, lol. Googles new venture is long range WiFi (like 4G on your phone) that is faster than fiber. If I remember correctly, they have it figured out, now just need to make it cost effective. I believe they tested it using weather balloons is third word type countries.

Yeah, I know that but they still call the servive Google Fiber don't they? Was just referring to the service.

You still need to connect the wireless towers to the fiber lines though from what I understand. You just won't need as much fiber which costs billions of dollars to install per city.

Have you used it? It is supposed to get 1gig up/down speed.
