I'm sure he knows a lot, but too much of this is staged. I was of the impression the crew was there to film, and only assist if his life was in danger.

MAN vs HOTEL is not that far off !

Damn. I feel had.

Bear started out with one liter of water in his canteen at the start of the episode, and continually reminds his viewers that you need a liter an hour out there. So 1 liter of water, about 10 microliters of water he slurped off a rock and another 5 microliters from river bottom dirt he used to moisten his lips, and no other water? And he’s walking in the heat of the day up and down dunes, talking to narrate, and Monkey Crawling out of sinky sand? Unless he’s guzzling water with the crew off camera, he’d have not made it for a fraction the length of the episode.

I remember this episode like it was yesterday, it was just on last week. And that is true. He is going on and on about the scorching sun and always seems to have something in that canteen while he foots it across big pieces of Sahara real estate.
