The majority of people think the dead suck. The same majority enjoy music by jennifer lopez, 50 cent, and people that win game shows on TV to get record deals. Pop music is enjoyed 14 year old girls. The dead is enjoyed by music fans.

Not quite J-Lo here:

...just telling it like i live it...i chose this career and believe me it is a lifelong career...i just get a lil edgy when i hear people say rock is dead...rock will never be dead!!!

If you want further evidence that Rock is not dead, one of the greatest Rock'n'Roll bands ever (Mott the Hoople) broke up in 1974 and has been largely forgotten by the music listening public and the corporations that feed them.

Several months ago it was announced that the original lineup was reforming for two gigs in London (@Hammersmith). Tickets went on sale and sold out almost immediately, resulting in 3 more show beng added. Those also sold out. Two warm-up dates (next Friday and Sat) were announced and sold out. Pretty amazing for a band that hasn't played in 35 years, was under appreciated at the time, largely forgotten, and never played the big arenas.

Here's one of the greatest songs ever written. It's a slower song that was written in 1972 and chronicles life in a rock'n'roll band that can't seem to crack the big time and is on the verge of calling it quits.

Hope some of you will recognize this....If this works, im getting it from a swedish site i think. The video runs slow but its almost 35 mins of the Fillmore East Concert that was recorded live for their live album. Very rare footage of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. The guy on harmonica was their manager.

(sorry embeding is disabled for this one, but worth the click, especially if you sort of like rap, reggae and rock)

Savant,

Very soon, a long awaited release of a documentary all about the legendary Grande Ballroom in Detroit. This place was the epicenter of rock and roll in the 60's and 70's in Detroit. Anybody was was anybody played the Grande back in the day. It's nothing but ruins today, as is most of the great architecture that made Detroit such a great rock and roll town back in the day. I think you might like this one.
