Highly recommended for those with an open mind. Bill Maher travels the globe asking hard core religious folk questions about their faith. Different religions, same questions. Laugh out loud movie here. The theater I was in was quiet for the first 15 minutes, almost afraid to laugh too much out of respect for what the stranger next to you might believe... but by 20 minutes in, the place is rolling out loud. Good insightful production here.

I'm sure its just your typical "I'm so cool that I'm gonna be a complete asshole and bash religion." Maher is just your typical moron that thinks he has life figured out. I'll pass.

You have not seen it but have already judged it and you will pass. That's a great reply.

I do want to see it as I have seen some of Bill's interviews and the movie is not what I first thought.

I've seen Maher on HBO multiple times. He's an arrogant jackass. That's all I need to know about a film that centers around him.

Maher is the biggest douche bag on the Planet.Saw him last night on Kimmel and he makes it sound like anybody is a fool for having religion in their life.Hes gonna need it for where he is going. At a time when this country needs God more than ever , he is out there preaching the opposite.

It's fine that he doesn't have any faith. I just don't get why he has to go out and make himself look like a complete asshole when nobody is even trying to discuss anything with him. He's a loser, that's all he is.

"I'm so cool"? More like I'm going to say what I think even though everyone will hate me. No group is more maligned and marginalized than non-believers. At least 10% of this country, and surely more, are non-believers, and yet you want find on person in Congress who represents that point of view.

Looking forward to seeing this. Seems like a very brave film.

The possibility that god exists does not grow simply because times are bad. That's pretty much the point Maher tries to make. That people created god and use god as a crutch in times just like these.

There's a reason why Bill Maher never has a top theologin on his panel. There's a reason why Maher didn't interview any New Testament scholars, or any of the leading minds in Christian apologetics in this movie. The answer -- he would get OWNED.

Most of his arguments against religion in general are appeals to emotion, and would be dealt with if he ever tried them with a credible theologin.

Bill Maher is a total fraud, and a jack-ass.

I put him in the same category as Michael Moore.

Can I ask why it's OK for people to make movies shoving religion down our throats, but it's not OK to make a movie saying that there is no religion?

I find it very hypocritical that people that preach against religion are bad people but people that walk around college campuses preaching for it aren't.

PS. I'm a religious person, just not overly religious. I don't see why he is being an asshole by preaching against it. So many people preach for it and there is no difference. He has his beliefs and to some it's just as asinine to believe in god as it is not to believe in god.

Because freedom of speech only applies to people that support religion.

There IS a difference in that, believers have a legitmate reason to share or "preach" their beliefs...it is in the hope of saving someone's soul. There is NO reason for people to preach AGAINST religion except to argue and patronize. I am a Christian, but even IF religion only served as the "opiate for the masses," (Marx) let it serve that purpose. I don't understand why atheists feel the need to argue their point incessantly. What good does it do?

They feel the same need to argue against as you feel to argue for it. They believe that it is bad for society. If you have read up on it you'd know why. They believe that religion is a scape goat for people in their lives. It allows some people to do horrible things and then just turn to religion.

Also more people have died in the name of religion than people have died in the name of no religion. Religion can be very dangerous and that's why people preach against it. It's their belief. Why is their belief less important to be preached? Just because you're a Christian, I am as well, doesn't mean that you shouldn't be open minded to people who preach against religion.

They have a legitimate reason in your eyes. Just like atheist have a legitimate reason in their eyes. Stop being so closed minded. They have every bit of a right in their beliefs as you do in yours. That's my problem with overly religious people. They believe that everyone who doesn't believe what they believe is wrong and shouldn't be able to express their beliefs.

I wouldn't call it ''lying" as the believe what they are preaching...but regardless of which religion is "true" (again I have my own beliefs, ) they BELIEVE they are helping the other person. What purpose does it serve to try to get someone to abandon their beliefs?

Are we really talking religion on NCAAF Saturday?

What if the person preaching against religion believed that they were doing everyone a favor because religion was doing a better job spreading ignorance and xenophobia than it is with spreading hope? Im trying to come up with something positive religion has done for the world, not much lately would be my guess.
