I stagger seams a minimum of 16", but I will repeat the seam with under 3 rows, to reduce waste. I may start lightly glueing the tonque as well, after the first few rows are layed. I glue smaller sections now, but not big pieces (lengths). Some of the instructions need to be disregarded, as they conflict.

I thought you were hunting for a place to move. Why change the floors out?

old (like 15 years old) white carpet looked terrible, better resale with the hardwood (faux). I'd love to move, floor replacement makes sense here, IMO !

The realtor guy ( Joey Fitz) is the guys' opinion I'd value highest. I'm happy with the results of first room, just watching the cat slide around on it , is almost worth it !

No more getting Jose in (on the sly) to shampoo carpets.

Yeah but the cat will catch on soon. If you had a dog he would run into the opposing wall for a month before he figured it out.

Get used to dust mops and oil. Dust bunnies gather up over night and gallop under everything. You are right they will increase your value. They are popular now. But give me carpet. I like the feel under my feet and vacuuming is soo easy.

glueing the tongues keeps the boards together better and also adds an extra moisture protection because the glue will make a seal. Doug you are a handy mofo.

after doing a room of it, I realise you will be pretty Fucked once the next row is layed, so you may as well glue it, as long as you arent going to try to adjust it furthur, glue is OK.

Sometimes (often),you can't follow instructions to the letter, and have to do it the way that seems correct to you. I have a strong background in construction mostly with installing AC ductwork. I don't reccomend laminate to those lacking construction experience, in particular on stairs. It ain't as easy as you might think it is... you definetly need a portable workbench and at least a jigsaw and common misc. tools, a chopsaw is ideal.

I'll try to get some photos.
