I'm not hatin'..and all apologies in any of you all liked her or were a fan, but how can Joan Jett make the Rock 'n Roll HOF? I'm a big Rock 'n Roll fan, and followed it a lot in the 60's, 70's and 80's, but she didn't do a whole helluva lot did she? A few good songs..maybe I missed something?

Her songs always seemed to get played after everyone's been drinking. 'Hate myself for loving you', 'I love Rock N Roll', and some others where she would sing other songs already made and hits by other bands such as 'Dirty Deeds' by AC/DC or 'Love Hurts' by Nazareth.

Can't say I liked her stuff nor can I say I hated her stuff. Wasn't really a fan but it was rock n roll music by a chick.

I remember having a thing for Lita Ford though, what a milf back in the day..

I had the same reaction as you to the news of her induction. I don't understand it. To me, from a musical contribution perspective, it makes no sense. "I Love Rock 'n Roll" was utterly unoriginal, uninspiring and unlistenable. I guess they put her in based on her Body of "Work"....she did tour (open) for quite a few well known bands over the years, has released 10 albums with The Blackhearts and 2 Solo + however many you wanna call "original releases" with The Runaways. I suppose that she is the only female "rocker" that has been active for as long as she has....but on merit of quality of music I don't understand this induction. Glad Stevie Ray Vaughn made it and also Bill Withers though.

Green Day?

uggh.

I guess they did make some melodic songs, original compositions....I ain't as puzzled by Green Day's induction as Joan Jett but still don't "feel it", like....'Oh Yeah, they should be in'

Somebody was comparing Joan Jett to Stevie Nicks.

Not even a race.....Stevie Nicks career was 100 times better then Joan Jett.

Notorious for beating MLB pitcher Chuck Finley over the head with her high heels while he was driving.

Oh come on that only happened a few times. You make it sound like every drive they took she was clubbin' Chuck over the head with her shoe. Chuck was a handful, like a chihuahua puppy with a hyperactive disorder and an overactive thyroid who'd consumed way too much coffee.

She did actually have a few more than just the one hit...equally as flatline though where regards originality and musical quality..."Do You Wanna Touch" comes to mind, "I Hate Myself For Loving You"....you see what I mean? Most if not all of us would have hit a preset to gtfoff that station when them songs came on.

I believe she charted with a cover of "Crimson And Clover" which actually wasn't that bad.

Me too, absolutely and not even really all the way that because to me these cheesy 50's Rock n Roll style "Cover Songs" she got hits with basically don't count as a Whole Hit so her 3 Cover Songs which charted might be (could be) squished together to count as one hit but I'd understand totally anyone who said "not".
