Will be thier third dog and homeowners assn. says we can only have two but he say;s fuckem.

Anyway I think I'm going to get one I have about an hour to decide.

I have an 11 yr old Lab and am leary.

Any Huskie owners out there?

My girlfriend has a huskie. The dog is not the most playfull dog in the world but extremely well behaved unless another dog invades its territory.

Great to hug. But sheds fur like their is no tomorrow.

they also have a tendancy not to come back when called, so if you let them go, you could be chasing them for a while.

They are great dogs tho

That's what Seymour is - these are great dogs - very loving - and he'll be a frisbee champ - also, these are regarded as the smartest dog.

If you decide on a husky, you will never look back on it as a bad decision. They are the friendliest dog there is.There is a book out there called "The Siberian Husky"by Betsy Sikkora Siino that is a must read so you can have a shot of outhinking them.

They are nice dogs, but...They were meant to be outdoor, working dogs. Unless you own a dog sled you are going to have to give them plenty of exercise. They are superbly adapted to cold and really don't like warm temperatures.
Hair everywhere. You are probably better off sticking with a lab. Do not make your decision quickly and an hour definitely isn't long enough.

Well we got the Aussie,it was one of those things where I opened the door to getting a new puppy and couldn't back off once the wife and kid got that foot in the door.

I was duped becuase I was interested in a Huskie.
But Jack is cute as a button and yes SS biting everything he can sink his teeth into and very rambunctious .

My brother -in-law has a wiener dog and my faimly just got back from visit with and they wanted to get a wiener dog also so this was like a preemtive strike.

That ain't no shit! A friend of mine had a pair, and if they had a SPLIT SECOND to make a run at an open gate, POOF! They would get picked up by the pound 2-3 days later about 5 miles away-repeatedly, lol.

That is a good price especially if it has papers. Neighbors have two and both are avid runners. They take them every day to run with them. A male and a female. They are great dogs with a bondless amount of energy. You shouldn't get if you can't walk or run him. They need exercise or they will drive you crazy. They come over and play every day with my small Shitxhu's. They are highly intelligent and very good around people and kids. They are not inside dog's unless they can really be exercised and that takes some time. If mine ever pass away, i am going to get the mineature Aussie.

What do you mean they're not good watchdogs? Mine goes ballistic if you come near my house. I found this an a dog site.

Choose this breed if you're looking for a watchdog and guard dog. The Australian shepherd is very protective of its home and family, and is gentle with adults and children

Get that boy a frisbee.

Man this little guy started out so mellow and is a terror now.

Hyper hyper hyper,I got home from work today and my little nephew say's he's been in trouble all day.

My wife says it;s my turn to watch him, kinda like when the kids were infants.

He's off getting his nails cliped right now and then I'm going to take him and my grandpa lab over th the school.

My poor lab just wants to be left alone growls a little but knows not to react.

On a side note my nieghbors had to get rid of thier Aussie as thier older dog kept pouncing it and the older dog killed thier rabbit a while back so they didn't want a repeat.

They put him on craigs list and got multiple hits so I guess $250 is a bargin.

Turned out thier nextdoor nieghbor ended up buying the dog and Jack is welcome to come and play anytime.
