OT- Has breast cancer or any other cancer touched your family?

I lost my Grandmother at the age of 62 to breast cancer.

I lost my aunt at 39 to generalized cancer.

My mother in law just a few months ago had her breast removed and is now undergoing Chemo.

It has touched our family hard.

To help do something about it, my wife is doing a "CANADIAN BREAST CANCER WALK FOR THE CURE" on Sunday October 4th.

If anyone here feels like sponsoring her, im sure she would very much appreciate it.

2 grandparents both inlaws and countless others in relation to friends families...i'll actually be runnin 4 the cure in two weeks ...took in a boat load of donations circlin the meadowlands parkin lot on sunday at the giant game...if u gave by the way u wont be sorry...it's 4 an incredible cause and i've been trainin my ass off 4 the run....

Lost my mother to liver cancer at age 61
Lost an uncle to prostate cancer at age 89
About to lose another uncle to prostate cancer at age 84

SS no help with eyewitness testimony on accounta he is in severe alcohol induced stress during his Mazatlan trip of about 18 months ago (if I recall the dates correctly)

My dad died of lung cancer at age 47 in 1982.....

I read an interesting fact about prostate cancer. 99% of men are stricken with it to some degree within 100 years of living.

This Disease Has Touched So Many In My Family

I've lost count. The saddest was my little Grandson Anthony, who died 3 yrs ago @ the age of 9, he had leukemia! He was SOO smart and loved sports, especially hockey. We contacted "Make A Wish", and he got to meet his idol #99, Wayne Gretzsky in Toronto. He was so thrilled. He was also featured @ one of the U of M games. 1 yr later he died. Broke my heart.

I've also had prostate cancer. Operated on in 1992, clear since. This is one that no one needs to die from. It can be detected and cured. The cures available now are also better and much less invasive than they used to be.

My Ex and all the women in her family have had breast cancer, so I worry about my girls. They have checks every yr, I still worry. God Bless all who've had their lives touched by this scourge!! Makes all the petty little arguments & aggravations we go thru seem trivial.

Cancer is a bitch....so many different cancers and no hope in sight for any cures...

my uncle had lung cancer and died in his late 40s early 50s......(he was a doctor)

my dad had prostate cancer (he KNEW he was at risk.....family history....smoked like crazy for decades.......fat......no exercise......high cholesterol/triglycerids F-O-R-E-V-E-R).........first surgery took care of the cancer.....and then he had like 3 more surgeries to fix the consequences of the first surgery (they had to cut deep to remove the advanced invasion of the cancer)

people these days live very very long lifes.....at some point we all die.....

the problem is when we help death by eating too much junk/not exercising /etc/etc

eat healthy , do NOT smoke , try to do some exercise to help dealing with stress (we all live very high stress lifes...except for Viejo Dinosaur.....)

that should take care of many contributing factors to cancer

I know that I am a good candidate for prostate cancer......in my early 30s..drink lots of tomato juice......and will start watching for it soon, I hope to remain in 'functional status' all the way up to 70s ...and may retire to Thailand LOL!
