OT - Computer Security Asst. Needed

I have two computers at home a laptop and a desktop. I have no problems on the laptop, but on my desk top, I have noticed that when you read a story on say cnn.com, it appears that it has already been viewed. How do I check to see if a neighbor is accessing my internet line?

I hope my question is clear.

Login to your wireless access point and see what IP addresses are active.

If you see any others than yours, someone else is using it.

However, a new page is a new page on different computers. Meaning I don't care if they go to cnn all day, when you go it's a new session.

If your wireless isn't using some shared key, I would advise doing that.

If none of that makes sense, then who really gives a shit.

Isn't history browser-dependent? ie: I thought history is stored locally by the browser?

But ya, use WEP or WPA shared key to encrypt on your wireless router and maybe limit it to your two MAC addresses.

those links are browser dependant. so no, this is not because of your nieghbor, although somebody probably is, if you don't have your wireless secured (WPA NOT WEP).

most likely the settings have being changed and the color settings. if u using ie, go to tools/internet options/under general look at colors and MAKE SURE use windows colors is checked off.
