Money factored in Dallas or Houston. I know many will disagree with this, but when taking into account that Texas has no state tax and the affordability in both those cities.

Best overall Cities:

1. San Diego and nobody is in the rearview mirror

2. San Francisco

3. NYC

4. LA

Orange County Coast is the best. Sandiego gets a little too rif rafty. Huntington Beach was a little better 10 years ago before it became toursit trap.

After going to Charleston for the past three years to possibly move to , it has my vote. Very friendly people, great food, feels very safe at night walking around and plenty to do. Any part of the South.

Any city you name is going to have problem. So, its more about what would make your ideal city. For me (in order):
1 - Zero to NO traffic!
2 - Affordable homes

Everything else is extra. I live in the desert right now which comes close to this :)

The Big Island of Hawaii.

Affordable in terms of being Hawaii as land is not a factor.

Pace is laid back, ever heard the phrase Hawaii'n time?

Just ask coach Nellie he lives there, cracked me up on time showing Nelson in the stands one time at the Maui classic he looked liked total beach bum all tan and hair was not combed laughed my ass off.

Give me a condo on the beach/golf course, dsl and Direct T.V.

Sitting in the morning sun
I'll be sitting when the evening comes
Watching the ships roll in
And I watch 'em roll away again

Everything considered, the midwest rocks!

Throw Iowa into the mix, West Des Moines and Iowa City are great places to live if one can withstand the harsh winters.

Iowa City amazes me more and more everytime I visit......great people, tremendous bars, culture, and major college athletics.

TAHOE is GREAT and would consider living there..........but overrated.

There are areas in Montana that make Lake Tahoe look like a dirty bathroom.

Don't tell anybody, but I like Texas more than anyplace..I have many relatives and friends who live down there..I love Austin. A ton of fun things to do in that town..Unfortunalty that's the home of the Short Horns. So I can only take so much of their obnoxious fans...But aside from that, a great state. I haven't been to Iowa. But if it's anything like the rest of the midwest, it probably has a better class of people.

I think people confuse living in an area compared to living there.

That right there would eliminate:

San Diego - to many homeless and illegals

San Fran - No way I would never live there. Way too many libs and loons for me.

NewYork NewYork To high cost of living. Taxes are crazy and who can buy a house there.

Must haves:

different seasons
low taxes and cost of living
water water water
jobs

Michigan used to be a great state. The unions and lefties are killing our industry here.

People think about weather when they pick a place to live. Can't blame them but I like midwest values and low taxes. In the end the weather does not make much difference if you have no money to enjoy yourself.

Texas and Florida would be high on my list.

Cali - never would make the list.

Agree. I love it here. I am not a West Coast guy, but San Diego would get a 2nd place vote.
