Still thinking of moving to Costa Rica or Portland but a buddy mentioned he was getting ready to move to New Zealand within the next year. I checked the exchange rate and the price of renting and it looks pretty good for those of us who get may get paid in US dollars.

Any information from anyone on the place?

More sheep there than in Idaho. I'm pretty sure that is what really appeals to you.:103631605

Damnit man. Stay on topic. :103631605

I looked into it and there are about 5 bigger cities with Aukland being the one I'd most likely go to. Bigger than Boise if you include the surrounding areas. Wellington looked okay too as it is slightly smaller than Boise. I don't want a huge town. Boise is about as large as I want to get.

Sounds like a good idea. I wish I could just up and move somewhere like that.

Figured I don't really :103631605 have a girlfriend and I use the computer to make money so I can work from anywhere. Between the strong conversion rate and lower prices, New Zealand just seems to be a good fit. I don't ever want to be trapped in a big city and New Zealand seems like a nice outdoor place too with lots of things to do.

Hopefully someone has been there or knows about it.

its boring, the weather is poor - not much of a place to live

alot of NZ folks head to australia

for a while it was a hit destination to get citzenship from but they changed the rules i believe

however in saying it boring thats just me - if your into nature fishing skiing and the like then you may have a different impression of it

currency wise they started cutting rates there and it should trend lower over time.

That last sentence... Does that mean the US dollar is going to be even stronger over there?

I really don't know much about currency.

PS, I love the outdoors. As long as I have some access to beers I'll find something worth doing.

New Zealand has probably the best Fast-Pitch Softball as any other country in the World.

I used to play competitive Fast-Pitch and these guys are good, especially pitching.

dollar Hienikens in Thailand everyday..but on a more serious note Jake, as much as you enjoy sports, New Zealand and Thailand are not the places for you..hardly any American Sports coverage and forced to watch major sporting events in the early AM...

ive lived in alot of countries and theres always positives and negatives of a new place.

you need steady fast i/net access and US sports access. also transportation and medical are always on the list as well.

the hardest thing is going to non english speaking countries getting setup with apartments and utilities.

ive never been to south america ..... I imagine costa rica or panama maybe good choices due to time zones. anyway let me know where you choose. gl
