Would have Put this in the Financial Investment Room but not much Action going on there.

Anyone do their Own Day Trading ? If so, which Online Trade place do you use ? Which has the Best Fees ? Nothing Hidden

I have a Broker that I use to Buy stocks for Real Long Term. Was using a service to play around, here and there.

But now I want to do some Real Playing around. So I'm Looking for a Good service.

Forgive my total ignorance. I have a question.

In this type of current market (down daily), do day traders tend to make more money than during the days of up up and up each day?

It really doesn't make a difference. You just want it to go down if you're short and up if you're long.

I'm trying to take baby steps and learn how this works. Can I just bet that the market will be down (even) one cent for a day and make money? I would bet a dime to make whatever, but my idea is the same.

The insiders of the company are the only ones that have knowledge --right or wrong?

yes they have most of the knowledge, but they have certain windows/time frames that they can buy or sell in.

also dont go e-trade. they are just a big name with big fees, nothing special.

its what I do for a living.....

I trade through a prop firm. Google echotrade, assent, bright trading. These are some of the prop firms out there.

Tradestation, IB (interactive brokers), etrade, scottrade, genesis are all retail shops. Meaning, they cater to the average investor, usually the non pro. Very few successfull big traders trade retail because of the reasons below: The big difference between prop (you need to have your securities license--unless there shady) is that prop you get more leverage on your money and you pay ALOT less in commissions and have access to usually more stocks available to short. As a serious daytrader who does it for a living, you need as many outs as you can get. Sort of like gambling.

Investing and daytrading are 2 different animals. 99% of what you read and see for sale (systems) are all snake oil....

Good stuff here. :103631605

I'm not going "Pro" but want to do some of my own trading.
I have had a Broker for about 19 years, and I never really cared about comm. and fees, etc.
Just thought I would get a feel and try it out.

Also, what do you think would be a Good Start-up ? $$ wise 10K ? or should it be more ?
