Sports Center reports a 6 year 54 million dollar deal. Pudge Rodriquez very close to coming to Baltimore also.

not sure if he is the answer though. It looks like they will sign Pudge soon.

I've heard stories that Baltimore has Vlad and Pudge ready to go too. Still not good enough to compete, but you might pass Toronto for 3rd.

this division will be the toughest in baseball.

boston and NY are championship contenders. toronto broke .531 last year . . .the new look O's should now be about a .475 or better club. tampa will probably break .400 this year. (they were .389 last year)

boston and NY could make this a division sporting 2 100 game winners. intense, intense, intense.

Short hops

The Baltimore Orioles were believed to be very close to a deal with free agent catcher Ivan Rodriguez in the wee hours of the morning Monday, and they remain the front-runners to sign outfielder Vladimir Guerrero.

Detroit made a strong run at shortstop Miguel Tejada, but it only served to increase his price before Baltimore signed him.

With top-tier pitchers such as Greg Maddux and Kevin Millwood still unsigned, the agents for second-tier starters such as Brett Tomko, Darren Oliver and Shane Reynolds are swarming on clubs while attempting to place their clients.

The Seattle Mariners are talking with first baseman Scott Spiezio, who was cut loose by Anaheim this winter.

O's need Pitchers.

We already have Rangers batting and losing each day, don't need two teams like that!

Life long Orioles fan, seems even lately when Mr A opened up the wallet they have used money poorly. One year they were near the bottom of the pack in the standings yet near the top in spending. It will be a tough divison, think both O's and DRays improve some this year.
