on paper...what a powerful team....

this team has the best overall defense in the pac 10......great receivers.....maybe one of the top 5 backs in the nation.....a nationally ranked qb with 23 td passes...

one question gnaws at me though.....

why are they only 7-5????

all due respect intended........on paper, this team is stone cold solid......what is the fly in the ointment here?.....it`s not like the pac-10 is a murderers row of killer ballclubs.....it`s a down year in the pac10.....

just curious as to what the opinion is on this from guys that follow the pac10 closely....

thanks in advance...

1. the player recruited by the last head coach were for a different type of offense.

2. the new head coach

3. to many stupid penalties and mistakes, players lacking discipline. Blame the coach for this ,

4. though QB Anderson has broken the schools passing record and threw for over 3,000 yard and rank 6th in the nation in passing yardage. He has also made stupid game affecting bad passes that led to interceptions. Some games he had over 3 int. I think in USC he had 4 int, one got return back for a td. He has 25 int's on the year.

5.These losses have a situational reason for them happening . First game loss to Fresno St. Game at Oregon was a rivalry and we all know what happens in those , usually the home team has the advantage. Last game lost to USC, well it was at Usc, it was against the #1 team in the nation, USC had the emotional edge and motivation to get this one. To me , three tough games against tough situations. That sometimes can dictate who will win.

Just my opinion, Aloha CC.

thanks,guys...was not a shot at oregon st or the pac 10....but we don`t see these clubs very often on the east coast and i was very impressed with some of the talent that oregon st has.....i`ve seen the argument made that if boise and fresno could hang in,then new mexico has a shot.......a tough one for me.....

thanks....

I am also going with what use to work when the MWC was part of the Wac, take the pac 10 team as it is an automatic that they have the better players. NM is to one dimensional and reminds me of N Texas and they got beaten by a Memphis team who didnt go to a bowl game in 32 years so this year could easily be a fluke. But Memphis beat them without their star RB and then lost their second RB. How can this happen. Well, because Memphis had a balanced off and when one thing is wrong or lacking they could go and use the other. The only difference here is that Oregon got stud players in the three key positions and they all rank in the top 10 nationally. Compared to NM has only one. To me that is an advantage cause any three of these guys can beat you. But NM only one, and he needs to go through eleven guys on the ground to do it. Not to easy against a team ranked 6th nationally at preventing that from happening. Enough advantage for me.

I think people on NM are looking at the rush stats, but what they are overlooking is the fact that Oreg St. has a good rush Off and Def AND pass off and def. Oreg St. pass D is better than NM against much better pass teams (schedule). This is where Oreg St. will win. Once up, what will NM do to come back? Can't they won't be able to throw the ball on Oreg St.

I'm on Oreg St -1.5.

I am hoping that the time off and the write ups in the paper will remind the coach of this and thus he made it a priority to reform their lack of it.

I agree GoUH, but still, it makes me wonder that either the teams they faced was that bad or they are that good. Cause Dontrell ran for alot of yards and they score and beat alot of teams. Well I decided that they played shitty teams accept those that they lost to. lol gl GoUH.
