Oregon, Stanford, Notre Dame, Florida State, Michigan State, Iowa, Oklahoma

These are all teams that were in the playoffs or playoff talk or BCS bowls in just the last couple of years and now they are fucking terrible, some won't even have a winning record. How do these programs collapse THIS fast?
Makes me appreciate the 1980's and 1990's when teams like Miami, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Penn State, Florida State, etc, etc had top 10 teams for 10 or 20 or more years consecutively.

Teams like Oregon and Stanford are even out of the race for their conference championship as well. This is where the good coaches really earn their money. I think Stanford is just young, but still they've been destroyed the last two weeks by the WA teams, Michigan St seems to be young as well and lacking some leadership. I wonder if they would have been better off playing the QB Terry?

FSU will be fine, extremely young and this was going to be a bit of a rebuild year anyway

FSU had 17 returning starters , hence the ranking to start the year .
Hard to do now with scholarships , college requirements , etc
But parity is much more , coaching sets Recruiting . Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh. ..If you can't pay , it'll show when you play
But there's only about 6 or so year after year up there
