They always give USC problems and were at home, but they are not a good team.

Even though Oregan St has the best record in the pac 10 in the months of october, november and december the past 2 years, i don't see them keeping it close on this one. Utah's spread offense should be too much for this game. Utah covers easy.

You can only upset so many times

Look @ NC State last week. You can upset 1 Ranked opponent (ECU), but the following week you are toast with another Ranked opponent (USF). So that means OSU upsets USC, tonight they are not gonna do it with UTAH. UTAH will make sure this does not happen to them, so they won't even make it close.:dancefool

Agreed Utah will more than cover the spread

You'd think?

Which is what has me thinking that Oregon St's coaches come up with a workable game plan as they did with USC last week. Not a for sure thing but not that strong of a bet on Utah, not any stronger than USC last week except the game is @ SLC, but they are aware of that too. Definitely a trend aganst the Beavers on the road but again, they know all about it. The team has been informed. Now it's up to the AC's to prepare the players accordingly. We witnessed a great game plan last week vs USC so we know what's possible. Other than that you can only go by what has happened before in this situation (on the road.)

I'm truly split on the call in this one.

:think2:

Perhaps a lean Utah's way but nothing more.
The Beavers proved that they are dangerous.

i think i like utah they went into the big house and beat michigan. They are a very underrated team and i think that OSU on the road will get beat by 17.

Home field is EXTRA meaningful on a national tv Thursday nite game. These Utah kids party a lil better than the provo bunch. They (Utah) think they are national players again and this is their one chance to prove it on the big stage. Quiz is very sore still from last week. He took a lot of cheap shots and kept going on adrenaline-it won't be there for him tonight.

Oregon State isn't the best team in the world but they have a balanced offense and a capable defense and should keep this game close.

Well I'm really tetering on the fence. After seeing Utah get sided here and probably most places, I'm thinking that the Beavers put out an extreme effort and keep this one within reach. Less than 2 scores difference. I doubt they will blow this game on mistakes. I don't think Utah will just pull away. If they do it will be late. But I'm not so sure they will. The points don't look so bad. Still no play for me because that would be gambling.

Every ATS Play = Gambling

I hear you.

But I'm puzzled by the last line in your message.

What are we doing when we take or give points in a game and looking for an ATS cover? Isn't all of this considered "gambling?" :think2:

My revised final score prediction will be close to the number:

Utah leads 31 -14 late in the 4th, and the Beavers score a trash TD for the BACK DOOR COVER! :bunnies:

So who is going to stop Quizz?????????

SC didn't.

Who is going to stop his brother or Morales, or Stroughter?

No one has stopped any of those guys.

Utah has been prone to offensive mistakes, such as allowing 12 sacks (which explains Johnson's minus-one yard rushing), throwing five interceptions and losing six fumbles. That's one reason Whittingham is wary of the Beavers' defense, which went from being steamrolled by Penn State to playing superbly against USC. Whittingham says the improvement of OSU's front seven, all of whom are first-year starters, is apparent on tape.

Utah is on 5 days rest. Oregon is on 7.

I don't think OS will win, but they keep it close.

One last note, Oregon State has won 3 of their last 5 against ranked opponents.

Well one thing is certain, the Beavers are much more together of a team than they were in W1 & 2. But tonight, I feel that Quizz will be more of a nuissance than a big threat. He won't run for 186 again tonight but he may come close to 100 if they run him often enough. The important thing is that this will take Utah's LB's out of the pass defense and should open things up for Moevao more than vs USC. Utah's pass defense is suspect. I trust that Langsdorf will figure out what Utah is giving them and they will exploit it with their excellent receivers. How well? Who can say?
