Nobody said Jake Browning was a surefire NFL prospect, he was undersized with below average arm strength - I live in the PNW and his future was always in the CFL

Here is one scout's draft profile:

Projection: Undrafted
Bottom Line

To bluntly put it, Browning is nothing more than a game manager at the NFL level. He lacks the elite arm strength and decision making to have a team invest in him as their franchise quarterback. However, his competitive nature, his ability to improvise and his trust in his arm will separate him from the rest of the quarterbacks that get labeled as a game manager.

Of course scouts can tell the difference between the real thing and a mirage. Browning was in the Top15 in the preseason Heisman odds...of course Bryce Love was #1 that year and Khali Tate was #3...need I say more about overrated PAC12 QB's?

12:09 left and the most touted QB this year, other than the surprise emergence of Burrow, looks like a game manager.

As a pro. Great college qb with best relievers in country.
If completely healthy 1st or 2nd pick in the draft. As is still a top 10 pick. Yes, great receivers but you still have to be able to throw the ball. Your boy Herbert just won the Rose Bowl ... and he's also a 1st round pick.

Herbert had one great run, couple clutch throws in the 4th. 138yds passing vs pretty good defense. Dolphin,Charger,Jaguar,Panther Fans, who will be the lucky team to draft him. Dude has nice hair though.

Justin Herbert is a fine-looking specimen, but I've never been too impressed by him as a big-game QB, so I don't know if he'll make it in the NFL.

Herbert will be nothing special in NFL. He will get drafted to be some teams franchise QB.

After 3-4 seasons he will be a backup somewhere

Oregon's type of offense will not produce an NFL franchise level QB.
They are deficient in running a pro style offense, they need to learn while expected to lead a team.
Does not work

I feel bad for him, as he will have so much pressure on him and he does not have the tools to succeed

Herbert has a great arm , good size , great mobility , and might be the smartest QB going into the draft.. Thats assets better than most QB's entering the draft. a lot of this as we all know will depend on what team he goes too..

We asked Herbert at the Super Bowl what NFL teams wanted to see from him during the week. He didn't say, 'Be more consistent in my reads,' or, 'Make better decisions with the ball.' He said, 'Leadership.' That's been the knock on Herbert during much of his college career, and after a strong showing in Mobile, if he can prove he has what it takes to command the huddle, he'll not only be a first-round pick, he'll likely find himself among the top 10 players taken. And with the Chargers and Philip Rivers parting ways, L.A. has a sudden need for a young quarterback.PROJECTED TEAM

Herbert is solid, I think in the right situation he will be a good NFL starting QB.
Burrows sure looks better, is more of a sure fire starter with a higher ceiling, but it could work out well for Herbert, too.
Tua is a terrible risk for Miami, he has been, and will be, haunted by injuries; maybe he will be OK but I sure would not bet on it by taking him 5th.
The Utah State kid Love looks like a good one to take later, he might thrive in the NFL, he has the tools...

Dave Krieg (Milton College) played 18 years in the NFL (12 seasons Seattle) and threw 261 touchdowns and for almost
40,000 yards. I don't have a clue where Milton College is located. Phil Simms had a pretty good NFL career with the
New York Giants and he was from Morehead State. Just never know...……………… Tony Romo (Eastern Illinois). Joe
Flacco (Delaware). Ben Roethlisberger (Miami, Ohio). Terry Bradshaw (Louisiana Tech).
