Heres a snippet...

"I'm glad we're taking a look at it before the potholes get so big that we can't even get out of them," said Leroy Younglove, a Portland driver who participated in a recent pilot program.

Someone should hit this bitch in the face with a shovel. Why not put a fucking camera in your car as well and how about a device to keep you from speeding. These cocksucking do gooders are going to destroy all that is pure and good.

They (Oregon govt.) keep saying there is not enuf money to fix and maintain roads. For good reason. They use gas tax money for everything but roads. We have bike lanes, hiking trails, buses, and street cars all sucking off the tax paying motorist.

Portland, like most of the west coast, is very anti-car. If you drive, you are scum. Therefore you should be taxed and taxed some more. It's another example of wealth transfer. The public transit system here in Portland is fairly good, but not economically viable. And every time mass transit gets voted down, they lawmakers just ignore the people's wishes and come up with another plan to waste millions of tax dollars.

This latest mileage tax is a dictators wet dream. Not only are they going to tax you for every mile you drive, but they will know exactly where and when you visited. And there is no way they will eliminate the gas tax. They will lower it, but not get rid of it.

Remember this is a very "progressive" city. If everyone gave up driving, they would tax shoes.

GPS based. When you go to gas station, your car tells the pump when and where you have been. The appropriate tax is then levied.

The guise is congestion pricing. You drive during rush hour (like a normal tax paying citizen) and you are taxed at higher rate. Yeah, that makes sense. Tax those fvking 9-5ers.

Modern Local and national government is nothing more than a gigantic cash guzzling cuckoo parked in the nest of society.

They won't cut their cloth to the level of cash that they receive anymore.

They'll simply demand more money with menaces from the captive population.

That's why this global warming bullshit has to be resisted at all costs, or they'll turn it into another open ended cash cow for filling their tax coffers.

Most people don't seem to realise that these government organisations are no longer really interested in improving society, their main objective is to live a life of luxury at the expense of society, just like what happened in the USSR.

GPS based?... Rotza ruck to them getting that....Congestion pricing?... Thats a a real big laugh because they keep letting about 2 1/2 million legal immigrants over here per about 2 years or another words enough new asses to fill a city the size of Philadelphia every 2 years so they are themselves creating the congestion.... Been to Atlanta lately?... Have fun. http://www.numbersusa.com/content/issues/urban-sprawl.html
