I personally don't have a problem with it.
However, one of the biggest parts of coaching is managing human factors and emotions.
If you run up the score vs your rival and it pisses off their team to the point where they come back and beat you next time, that doesn't make them a bunch of pussies, it makes you a bad coach for firing up the rival team.
So my theory is run up the score when it makes sense, like if a crazy BCS computer is determining your fate. If you pull it in the NFL, though, and it pisses off 25 of 30 coaches around the league, then it was probably a poor decision as everyone will be out for your head every week.
Once again, as a fan, its the opposite...if I see my team sitting on the ball I might like them LESS, I want to see blowouts when I'm cheering for the home team
