also like ali here.....don`t like her or her dad....and have always thought that m.ali was very, very good....not nearly as good as the media hype has led everyone to believe....when a guy lays on the ropes for 2.5 minutes of a given round doing nothing, then flurries for 10 or 20 seconds and gets the round, something is very wrong....sort of like "the empereor has no clothes"....a poltically sensitive time, when the race issue was a darling of the media...the stand against the vietnam war..a very unpopular war and the media loved him..he was loud, abrasive and was great press.....and the heavyweight division was absolutely poor during most of ali`s years....i still say that an older, more mature foreman fighting at a more neutral venue has an excellent chance at getting ali out of there...and i strongly believe that larry holmes in his prime was the better heavyweight.....
but,the squeaky wheel gets the most grease....look at nasseem hamed...camacho....jorge paez..and fernado vargas to a lesser extent..all very good fighters...vargas has much talent....but he falls just below the mosely`s and the delahoya`s.....a big mouth and marketing got him a very undeserved decision vs winky wright..having a big mouth and a being a total bore pays off in boxing...thanks for that,ali... .. .all very good fighters....better p.r. men...
that aside,i agree with green that in her prime, despite the size difference, lucia rijker is hands down the class of women`s boxing....
christy martin couldn`t get bogus mia st john out of there....i doubt that she has much of a shot against a much, much bigger woman with "some" skills....
christy`s looking a little matronly lately....hit the gym,girl....
