Opinions guys- Made a drunken bet that Giants will

win more than 8 games this year. My buddy, a horrible Dallas fan, bet me 3 to 1. He always seems to catch me drunk and make these damn 3 to 1 bets with me all the time. I haven't lost one yet tho. We always do 100, that way if I do lose I don't get killed. Plus, he's a millionaire so it's not the money, it's the win. Damn sick individual! Last drunken bet was that Big Brown won't win the triple crown. Of course I won that one! But if I ever did lose I would pay the man, I don't make bets and not pay. I'm pretty sure he would just give it back to me in some strange way, like make a terrible bet with me to assure I win. But I've got him for 700 on these drunk bets so far.

So, who thinks the G Men will do better than 8-8? Would just like to hear other's opinions on why or why not.

Oh yea, a little trivia I forgot to add. Of course most men prob know this, but I sure didn't. You guys seem to know all kinds of little sports trivia crap.

eli seems to be improving each year... not a big threat but he is a fair qb capable of making big plays and obviously winning

One of my buddies actually thinks that Eli manning will NOT throw more than 10 INTS this year..

I jumped all over that one...thing is that he wasnt worried about it..(not a very smart sports fan) but when he saw some of my other calls like Lakers winning the West and Shaq stinking it up in Phoenix (this was right after the trades) He started shaking. BTw,..i had also told him that Either Philly or ATL would make it to the play offs and he laughed at me so bad..

Now he is definately quaking in his boots.

Sad thing is that he is too proud to let me book some of his bets and will at times take stupid bets against me while leaving free points on the table. (always bets on straight up wins..never points)

i think that is elis weakness throwing ints

to me eli seems alot like his bro in this area that when he throws one int it doesnt really bother him and he doesnt hold back, they both still gamble and shoot for the endzone. i dunno if they try to make up for the turnover or just keep playin with out it bothering them. and it either leads to more ints or big plays. and im not a 100% sure on this but i didnt really care to look it up either but i think eli had around 20+ ints last year to have less than 10 this next season.... its gonna be a suprise to me if he does

My initial reaction to that was "Hell yea, I'd take that bet too!" Until I remembered that Eli didn't throw one INT throughout the playoffs and didn't throw one in the SB either. That would be the only thing that really worries me. Of course nobody knows what Eli will be showing up this season. Maybe he's a changed man? It's still hard for me to think he won't throw more than 10. I sure hope the playoff/sb Eli shows up.

I swear everytime he does/doesn't throw an INT I'll think of your bet now! GL

I think it's a good bet just because there is value in the number, but I personally think they will go either 7-9 or 8-8. They have a very tough schedule and are a bit overvalued because of their Super Bowl run last year. They could either win the division or finish last this season and neither should really be a surprise to anyone.

I think you are wrong about this.. Eli did throw an INT in the SB...

I am gonna look up his play off stats, but i am sure there is an INT in there some where.

Eli Manning did throw a pick in the Super Bowl.

Eli's career as a starter in a full season:
2005- (11-5)
2006- (8-8)
2007- (10-6)

All 3 times the Giants made the playoffs. His record in playoff games is 4-2.

This is a very strong bet with the Giants coming off a SB win.

I have them pegged for 9-11 wins.

yes you guys are right. Eli threw 1 INT during SB. I read it wrong. Was thru the playoffs. Still not too shabby. I swear I thought he didn't tho.

i think you might lose this one!! the giants losses on defense of strahan, wilson, mitchell and other LB (forget who) coupled with the fact that they really were not that great of a team last year they just got hot at the right time will make them miss the playoffs this year. it is almost a given every year now that at least one of the superbowl participants will miss the playoffs the next year and i doubt it will be the pats. plus every year the giants have won the superbowl, they have failed to make the playoffs the next year and i have a strong feeling that this trend will continue.

P.S i would bet EVERYTHING i own that Eli will throw at least 10 INT's next year
