I got a 50" samsung DLP had it for a couple years and cant say anything bad about it hd picture is great. Well just one thing the blub went once but there was around 12,000 hours on it and I'm sure there has to be atleast 10,000 on the new blub. Also on that note I think you can get led blubs that last even longer now but I'm not certain on that point.
The only other draw back is you cant hang it on a wall its not flat although I think the new ones are flatter, anyway that really dont bother me as the tv is in the corner plus the dvd player, cable box, and xbox are all on the stand under the tv you got to put this shit somewhere so I just think flat tv's are overratted.
About size I'm glad I got a 50" my buddy got the same tv but 55" and its too big. Although on size our tv's are 16:9 not pure wide screen and a 50" wide screen is smaller than a 50" 16:9.

I agree with this post, especially if you have means to either pay in full or to get reasonable finance options.
I consider the "big ass" HDTV for main viewing room to be a long term investment, so why jack around with a 38 or 42 when you know you want the 52

Just bought the 52-inch Samsung LCD 1080P 120 Hz Model LN52A650. Bought it at Best Buy. Absolutely incredible picture quality, both in high definition and Blu-Ray. Price a month ago was $2799 but got 12% off that price, then last week, it was shown online for $2199, so went back at got another $232 back at the store. I sit 12 feet from the television but even up close it is crystal clear. You want to make sure the screen is large enough, because many broadcasts won't fill the screen, unless you use the wide-fit. I keep mine set on 16:9 so everything is sharp and the HD games fill the screen entirely and perfect. Did a lot of research on this model before buying at it is at the top of it's class.
