opening day at del mar

don't have time for detailed write-ups as i'm not heading to the track 'til this weekend, but i may make a few plays:

r5: singletary. i think this one is a total stnadout in here for chatlos. this is the much weaker devision and don't see anyone in here who could challenge him. probably a lousy price, so perhaps this is just a pass.

r8: puma. love mchowsky wiht this type of runner and i think the price will be right in this the stronger division of the oceanside. stanley park may turn out to be a real monster, but i'm taking a swing with a euro import who should love the lush del mar grass, dropping out of group races in great britain.

r9: go max go. got a feeling spawr has his stock all juiced up for a big del mar meeting. you could almost tell, the way he sort of pulled the reins in at the end of the hollywood meeting. hope he ends opening day with a bang.

 

master, not playing your watch horse in r5 w/krone aboard. would exacta be a good play or just too outclassed. will have to disagree w/ya on the 8th, but then again more wrong than right!

who is my watch horse? i put requette on my watch list, who is a monster turfer out of the bobby frankel board, last seen in the united nations handicap at monmouth being put into the shuffler by edgar prado. the horse i think you're referring to is requite in the 5th at del mar. requite is making his first start in the united states for kathy walsh. different horses, my friend. and by the way, requette would be about 1/9 favorite in that race...

relicon is running tomorrow at arlington. once i get the form, i'll post whether or not he's a play for me. i think he'll be much better routing on turf, but i will have to look at the field.

 

me thinks to wide, (13 hole) and too short a race, for relicon.
