I just looked at which party raises the most money each election cycle.

So far the Republicans are leading in 2018, for the first time since 2006.

Democrats won the cash battle, 08, 10, 12, 14 and 16

Republicans won 00,02, 04 and 06

I think it's obvious donors like to give to the party controlling the White House
