Online Sites' 2008 Profitability

In terms of profitability, has this year been average, below average or above average for the typical online sportsbook/casino/poker site? Would the answer remain the same without (or with very little interest in) the poker component? Are there any rumors (obviously, non privileged information only) concerning any specific books?

Each year as the football season winds down I grow concerned about closures, but this year I'm particularly worried the tight credit markets will endanger the survival of more books than usual. Any insight or general knowledge (hell, even rumor) you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
