Some of you may know this allready, but sure many do not.

Many onlike poker sites will enable you to find out what your opponent held, EVEN IF THEY MUCKED HIS OR HER HAND.

How you ask?

Simply go to the HAND HISTORY after your hand is completed and it will reveal what the player mucked.

Enjoy,

How many would consider this to be cheating?

It only lets you do this if the hand goes to showdown, and the loser mucks. Can you not ask at a casino? I've never played in one.

I don't play online but you are allowed to see any called hand in 'live polker'. This is for game protection, maybe this would pevent two people teaming up on-line one way or another and insure a fair game.

5Teamer is right, folks. I have never played poker online as I FEAR that two or three of them are working together via phone or separate conversation online to beat the others out of the pot. THAT is a HUGE concern of mine and should be a concern of yours', too. tulsa

Is that always the case? I know the hand histories in Party don't always give that information.

Depending on the site, yes.

Party Poker does indeed show that information if both hands check the river..

I have visited some casinos poker rooms where i have been told that I had to show my hand to the table even though both players checked the river and i attempted to muck my hand..it depends on if another player at the table requests to see it or not

Sherman-

At Foxwoods (or any B&M cardroom) you can ask to see all the cards of the players that go to showdown. In other words, if the river is checked all around or a river bet is called, you can ask to see the cards of the players invloved at that point.

It is not cheating BUT is bad etiquette. Frankly, if I'm at a table with a particularly tricky player I will on occasion ask to see the cards if he has been a bully and has yet to show a hand.

Fish-

GREAT POST!!! I'm surprised that more players do not do this. It is an incredible source of value.

I check the hand history in probably 70% of the hands at places where you do not have to get an email. In the other 30% I either already have a read or the players are so bad that I don't care what they were holding.

Sherman-

I think I recall you having trouble beating online poker, I'm sure your results will improve just a little once you start checking hand histories.
Just a note, a good player will mix his play enough that the histories will be less valuable.
