What is the probability of the same player getting a pair of pocket aces twice in a row at a table of 10 players? Had it happen to me and couldn't believe it. I folded the first time before seeing what the person had but went all in the second time because I had a pair of pocket Kings and was shocked to see this hand. By the way, do you think any of these poker rooms have "house players" who play for the house to generate rake for the sites and could possibly have an "edge" on other players? Has a poker room been found out doing this or using robots?

This is why I'll never play poker for money online. I don't see how this type of thing can be watched.

A lot of players will say that you see a higher frequency of strange hands/occurances online because you're getting dealt 60% more hands per hour or something. I'm not sure if I believe it, because when I was playing online I saw the exact thing you describe happen. I think it's probably rigged.

some of them deal a fair game no matter what. my only gripe that I notice that seems fishy is that with some of them in a large tournament, if you have a short stack and wait for good cards and go all in you will lose to large stacks with mediocre cards like 3/4 times.

i have used this to my advantage though when i have a large stack and i see a player waiting for good cards go all in with short stack i will call him on it and usually win.

ex: he has KK I have 34 suited and end up with a flush or his QQ and I have J-4 and pull 2 pair on river or when I'm the short stack it is the opposite.

i believe they do this to shorten the field as quickly as possible so they dont have 3000 guys tieing up their server playing in a free tournament.

when i play with real money it seems they are dealing a fair game no matter what. if you are playing good cards and you know what you are doing you will win. if you are playing every other hand everything is going to seem fishy.

Andy Bellin, in his book POKER NATION, claims to have once being dealt pocket ACES on four straight hands.

Not specifically answering your question, but I was dealt AA, then KK, then QQ, then JJ four consecutivie hands a couple days ago - AT A B&M CASINO.

I have also seen AA dealt twice in a row several times over the last couple months.

You do play 10x the number of hands online, so I do think you will see stuff happen a lot more. But that doesnt mean I necessarily believe online poker is on the up and up. Ive seen some strange stuff, but I am open to believeing that it is.

Most people complain about poker being fixed because their AA loses in a hand to a 85 off

If you are playing a game where 5 cards that help determine a outcome have not been shown to you yet there is a strong possibility that the future cards can affect the strength of your hand (especially if there is more then one person with a set of 2 cards that is using the same 5 cards you are using)dont be suprised if you lose any hand you have.

AA can be beat by 2 7 any day of the week the quicker you understand that the better you can handle the No Limit game.

224*224 = 50,176. So if you play 50 hands an hour and play 50 hours a month, it should happen about once every 2 years.

As for "house" players or props, I am sure some of the sites use them. The vast majority of sites using them give them no edges, just put out the opportunity to play. Live card rooms that use props usually look to pay about twice the rake they collect from the players, so if the room pays $15/hour they generally expect you to play enough to pay about $7.50/hour in rake or time charges. Of course if you play better than break-even you can earn more, but most props just aren't anything more than very tight players trying to break even. Online I bet they get plenty of volunteers and with faster game play probably generate almost as much rake from them as they pay out.
