Over time, seen some discussion about wheter or not players can cheat playing online. Some say yes, some say no.

Read an article in the Dec 2008 "Cigar Aficionado" magazine that confirms/says cheating took place.
Some player named NioNio was able to see EVERYONE'S hole cards by using a piece of software to acheive this big advantage. UltimateBet sight.

Anybody else see/read this article?? Must be accurate = it's in black and white.

Without question online poker is rigged. 99.9999999% Think about it. In the world we live in of lies and deception online poker is the perfect scam controlled by genius software programmers. Ask yourself this question, If you had millions of dollars flowing through your web site with zero chance of anybody being able to detect it would you peel off 10k here and 10k there by simply programing software. If you think for one second they are not placing bots all over those tables playing picking up suck out after suck out not at one table but spread out over hundreds, you are either very naive or very stupid. How many times have you heard "thats poker" and the schmucks believe it and keep coming back. I was bored! :) I quit playing online 3 years ago. Over time they will get your money.

Not only the bots, but you can be in a ring game or a sit n go and 2 people can be on instant messenger relaying their hands back and forth. Which gives them an advantage over everyone at the table.

This is the form of cheating that concerns me the most.

I Asked my cousin once (who builds computer software) if someone could find a way to see your cards? So he asked me "can the main server see all the cards"? I said yes they would have to, to know who to pay. Then he asked me "so your asking can someone hack into the server". I said yes I guess. Then he said people hack into Nasa's , so what do you think? I never played again.

Guess his logic is correct.
I only play online multi's for 2.20 or 5.50 for entertainment only (i'm sick eh ) = above comments and below = one more reason to not venture off to the bigger games and get hooked on them like I'm hooked on the small multi's. Online poker habit is worse then getting hooked on crack.

I've been playing Bodog poker for years. I used to play in cash games (low stakes), and every great once in a while I'd suspect two players in cahoots...ie: first guy bets, I call, last guy raises, first guy re-raises, I fold, raiser folds. When the same two people did that a few times at the table, it certainly looked suspicious. I once asked a friend who played a lot of on-line poker if he ever worried about that stuff happening, he said "hell yeah it happens! I've done it!" So, there's no question that it happens.

On top of that, I always worried about the possibility of Bodog rigging the cards to inflate the betting. They certainly have an incentive to do so since they make a percertage of every pot in cash games.

At this point, I now exclusively play in CHEAP (ie: $2.00 and $4.00 tables) sit-n-go tournaments and I no longer worry about being cheated. Bodog has no incentive to rig the cards and inflate betting because in sit-n-go's they make their cut up front. And by playing in extremely cheap games, there's no incentive for players to cheat together since there's so little profit to be made and it takes too much time to win. Not to mention, it's somewhat counter productive to cheat with another player in a 10-man tournament.

You won't make a lot of money playing cheap sit-n-go's, but you probably won't get cheated either. If you're just looking to have fun playing poker, sit-n-go's are the ticket. And I'm living proof that they're rather easy to win, because I've done very well playing them and I'm an average player at best.

I think this is what happend to me. I had a thread about it here.

I let PokerStars know .. they investigated the tournament hand history and came back with "everything was on the up and up"

I still don't buy it .. but what can I do. Just watching the way the guys were playing and seeing them on the same table in different tournaments, I can see how someone can get away with it.

At the end of the day .. people can get away with so called "cheating" and noone can do anything about it.

Havent played much if any online since .. as no matter how well I play .. can't make a fin dime anymore online.

Good luck to those who still continue to play! :103631605
