Game 4
CAROLINA +1.08 over Boston
The Canes look a lot looser, they’re playing with a ton of confidence and the fans are on their feet from the opening face-off to the final whistle. In fact, right now, this might be the toughest building in the league for the opposition to pick up a win at. The Hurricanes defense is also playing tremendous, as is Cam Ward. As I see it, the Bruins are pressing and they look frustrated. In the last game they were very physical, hitting everything in sight and they still lost. Now the Canes have a ton of momentum, they’re really playing great hockey and they have the Bruins in a tough spot. Remember, the Bruins cruised through the regular season, never being in jeopardy of missing the playoffs while the Canes were fighting for their playoff lives for weeks and weeks. The Canes responded big time and they’ve responded even bigger in the playoffs. This is the first time all year the Bruins have faced adversity and in game three they were badly outplayed as soon as the Canes scored its first goal. The home pooch is extremely live in this one. Play: Carolina +1.08 (Risking 2 units). <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I am amzed. If there is one thing you have done consistently all season long, it is trashing the Canes. You have never liked them from day one. I believe you called them one of the worst defensive teams you had ever seen.
Now I'm not saying your prediction is wrong. Just that I'm amazed that you have completely changed your opinion of this team.

Canes look good in the first period. Very odd to see the Bruins struggle in game two and three and now in game 4 they suck ass.

Sherwood's write-ups are often like this. Since he usually plays dogs and has to author paragraphs (for his website) for each pick he ends up overstating weaknesses of good teams so it sounds convincing to the reader. Find some stats to support his claims and it sounds credible to the untrained eye.

I guarantee you that he has trashed and praised every team in the league on multiple occasions. It just depends on what team he happens to be backing that night. He's like a lawyer trying to make a case of a client. He knows a lot of what he says is BS but it sounds good and gets the job done.

Don't get me wrong. I really enjoy his write-ups. I just choose to take them with a grain of salt.

Thanks for the comments and I cannot argue the fact that I overstate things sometimes. I'm always trying to improve and will definitely try to be more aware of that.

Thanks for the constructive criticism and for the kind words too.

The Bruins are frauds. The way they disposed of Montreal in 4 with Carolina having to go a tough 7 games series with Jersey, you would a figured that this series set up well for the Bruins considering they beat the Canes all 4 games in the regular season. No excuses for the Bruins. They flat out stink.

After losing game game two, 3-0 in Boston. I knew that they were in trouble.

I made a ton of money fading carolina this year, the canes just happened to really come on like a steam train at the end of the year .boston has actually dominated this series but its a whole new game now.

sherwood great pick, you were right about a live dog and that building was louder than even calgary, the canes may end up in the stanley cup finals, just a few moths ago I saw them at home during the playoffs.its all about being hot at the right time and no one in hockey is as hot as the hurricanes are right now
