HOME TEAM IN CAPS
WASHINGTON ST +5½ over UCLA
The later you wait to bet on this one the better, as this line can only move one way and it’s not down. There are 5’s out there but I found a 5½ at Sportsinteraction and it definitely won’t move down there. Anyway, what we have here is the #11 ranked Bruins on the road playing an unranked opponent and that’s an angle always worth a look. What we also have is two very tough defenses and 5½-points are a lot of points to be spotting the stingy Cougars in their own barn. In fact, the Cougars are holding the opposition to a mere 52 points a game. The Cougars are definitely moving in the right direction and after three wins in a row over Stanford, Oregon St and Oregon, the latter two on the road, they have to be feeling pretty good. That trio is weak but a road win in the conference is still not an easy task and a win is a win is a win. This is a huge game in that if the Cougars are on the bubble this is a game that could put them in the dance. Taylor Rochestie is a terrific guard, who commands the floor and seldom makes a costly mistake. Rochestie went off for 30 points in his last game and he also went 16-16 from the stripe. Man, this kid is so good. The Bruins are tough and they’ve been the Cougars daddy for years. However, they have a much bigger game on Saturday against Washington and they’re also coming off a game against Arizona St. These two are so similar in that they both lack offense and play great defense and when you play a team that can go cold for long stretches and lay points on the road with that team, it’s usually very risky indeed. The Cougars have to be sick and tired of losing to this invader, thus, this is a game they’ll be so amped up for. They actually have a damn good chance of pulling the upset and getting this proverbial monkey off their backs. In what should be a very low scoring affair, the points are big and it says here Wazzou keeps this one scary close. Upset possibility. Play: #736 Washington St +5½ (Risking 2.2 units to win 2).
Yep, I got sucked in on Clemson yesterday and I take full blame. Sorry about that lame call. My bad.
