HOME TEAM IN CAPS
NORTHERN IOWA –2½ over Illinois St. <o></o>
The top two teams in the conference will go at it here and the Panthers will be sure to show the Redbirds who’s boss. ISU is a mediocre team with a mediocre road record and that’s lost some games that a good team would not lose. Yeah, they got off to a great 14-0 but they beat a bunch of cupcakes and when conference play started they weren’t nearly as successful. In fact, the Redbirds are just 6-3 in the conference with losses to Bradley, Indiana St and Wichita St. It’s also worth noting that all three of those losses were on the road and all three occurred over its most recent six-game stretch. This intruder has not shown much more than any other teams in the conference with the exception of the Panthers. NIU is 8-1 in the conference and they’re on an eight-game winning streak. They’re not only winning but they’re winning in convincing fashion with most wins in the conference being by double-digits. Unlike the Redbirds, the Panthers played a strong non-conference schedule that featured games against Marquette, Iowa, Iowa St and Auburn. The Panthers will put some distance between them and these second place imposters and it likely won’t be close. Play: Northern Iowa –2½ (Risking 2.14 units to win 2).
