Mississippi St +5 over Tennessee (1:00 PM)
They crushed South Carolina by 14 getting 2½ points and followed that up with a 10-point win over LSU yesterday as a four-point pooch. The Bulldogs have now won all three of its tournament games by double-digits and the books are offering up more points. This team is peaking and they’re playing with a ton of confidence. That combination is so tough to beat. I should mention the four games in four days angle the “experts” always like to point out but most of the experts are 60 years old and have trouble walking up a flight of stairs. Anyway, the point is that the “tired” angle is ludicrous, absolutely and utterly ludicrous. These are kids that love to play, are in great shape and can’t wait to get back on the court today. Hell, when I was 18 or 19, and I probably speak for everyone reading this, we used to play ball hockey or basketball almost every day and we played it for hours on end and we didn’t have players coming off the bench. The next day none of us we’re tired and most of us smoked too. So, to think these guys are exhausted is utterly ridiculous because they’re not even remotely tired. These two hooked up on Feb 25 in Tennessee and the Vols squeaked out a five-point victory. Now the Bulldogs are getting that exact same number on a neutral court at a time when they’re playing its best basketball. They’ve won five straight and not only can they keep this one very close, they can easily pull off the upset. Play: Mississippi St +5 (Risking 2.14 units to win 2).
