going back to week 16, this will be their 4th road game in a row ... team has to be wiped... just something else to consider boys... FYI...

actually 5 of the last 6 weeks, and 6 of the last 8 weeks, Pitt has been on the road...

i know a few former players who used to say they were better off on the road because they rested more on the plane etc. but, when they got home they were getting laid, family stuff etc etc so they got less rest. but i see a very good point here and good info for members to take under advisement when factoring their wagers. thanks for posting

Playing on the road helps more than hinder. Players don't get bugged for tickets and get more rest than the home teams

I would stop gambling if Pitt makes it to the Super Bowl. It would mean effectively that they would have won 5 consecutive games on the road. I don't care what team it is, all things being equal Pitt has to be at a disadvantage from here on out. Seattle's journey is not much easier...

Very good. And he will not be 100% = Denver -7 ......mins. Manning was benched UNTILL last game = no edge Wish the over and under was 45......than we would have a easy under.

Of 32 teams...5 had a better road record than home...3 of them were 1-7 at home....your own house, car, food, bed, schedule, woman, kids at home, plane ride, hotel beds, hotel food on the road....no 500 team or better has a better road record than home

Keep in mind, that Pittsburgh ran the table as a 6 seed in '06. All on the road.

Even if Big Ben plays, how effective throwing the ball will he be?

Even if he doesn't play, which he will. Denver had two players who were absent from Monday's practice were safety Darian Stewart (hamstring) and cornerback Chris Harris Jr. (shoulder). Look what happened to Clemson last night, with Alexander trying to play safety, re-injured it and Alabama's TE had a field day with 200+ yds.
Pitts recievers will have a field day no matter who plays QB

That was an extremely physical game vs. Cincy. If Ben and Brown do play they are clearly less than 100%. Denver is going to shut down Pitt's running game. Id be shocked if Pitt ran for more than 70 yards combined. Is a banged up Rothlisburger gonna be able to throw it 40 times and win? On the other side, does anybody have any idea what you are going to get out of Peyton? Steelers secondary is pretty bad but can Peyton exploit it? Have no idea if he can or not at this point.

Ben has torn ligaments........he will play, but won't be as effective as last week, that I guarantee you.

i just read an interview with Ben that said his follow thru is the issue, so that is why when he came back in the cinn game, he threw a lot of screens.. the longer passes will be a major issue.. and if Denver shuts down the pitt running game, can he throw 40+ times with that injury?? i don't think so

I think playing on the road is exaggerated in playoffs. Regular season, yes. Playoffs which mostly for good teams and they have no problem winning on the road. See Giants and Pitts previous SB.

Pitt should be more concern with their health and running O.

The last 3 games were road games, but short trips to places they are familiar with. BAL CLE CIN. So travel was probably not as taxing as it may seem. Still, any fatigue and soreness, coupled with 4th straight road game, in thinner air, is not a good recipe for slugging out a win.

From what I've heard, the biggest problem is when you have the nagging injuries late in season, a 5 hour flight sucks ass. Being couped up on a plane and not being able to use team facilities as much is what has the biggest impact on whether players are 80% or 90-100%

as a poster pointed out the steelers are facing a very similar situation to their 2005 season run to the super bowl title. they played 2 of their final 3 reg season games on road then 3 straight road games followed by detroit super bowl....so were home only 1 of final 7 games of season including playoff wins in Cincy and Denver

2 years later the NY Giants did almost the exact same thing. played 7 of 9 away from home to end the season including all playoff games and ended up not losing a road or neutral game since week 1 of regular season.

while i don't have a lot of faith in a tomlin-coach team away from home (7-23 outside of EST) this is not exactly breaking new ground in NFL history to sweep the playoffs on the road
