Is how important an education is. It is sad to see how defenseless people are and it is compounded when you are uneducated. I am not trying to start an argument about money/jobs/welfare/race/looting or any of that, just looking at people who didn't or couldn't evacuate before things got this bad.
Especially sad for all the kids who are stuck relying on parents or other people who are now wondering around pretty much clueless.
It's easy to sit here with a PC and internet access surrounded by information a click away and say "why didn't they leave" or "I wouldn't live there" or "don't walk in the water people are taking a dump in".
I am not trying to pass judgment on anyone, I just hope that these kids stuck in the middle of the Katrina mess will be able to grow up and have more sense and more opportunity than their parents had.
