Two teams I like for one year improvement are the New York Jets and Oakland
Raiders. Not saying either will be playoff teams but each should easily improve on
last year's 4-12 records. I know the Jets seem like a rudderless ship but with
an easy travel schedule (Patriots, Eagles, Jaguers, Dolphins, Redskins, Bengals,
Ravens, Bills) they could bus to all but two Florida games. They also get the
NFC East as the out-of-conference division, which is not all that difficult. With
Oakland, Gruden's second edition will be much better than a 4-win team. He's
getting his people in place and it will pay off this year. One concern is all the
1:00 p.m. EST kickoffs they will have to overcome. I predict both New York and
Oakland will double last year's win totals. With a break or two, one might even
hit 9 wins.
