Oh my, right here we have another golden underdog. Oklahoma State will not win this game by 15 points.

Houston's offense is very possibly the best offense in the nation. They bring back all the key players from an offense that shredded every team they played last year. They bring back USA today player of the year QB Keenum, They bring back 7 on the O Line that protected him all year. They bring back their stud RB Beall.

This Offense scored 37 at Ok State last year, it scored 41 + points in 8 out of its 11 games. Houston was the highest scoring team against half its opponents last year. In fact, Houston scored 70 in a 40 point win over a very good Tulsa team, noone else scored more than half that against Tulsa all year.

Air Force held 5 opponents to 10 points or less last year, but Houston scored big on Air Force in both of their games. Including scoring 34 points to win the Air Force bowl. Houston scored in every game, their lowest output all season was 23. This offense is explosive.

Now, Oklahoma State. For some reason, everyone seems to be on this teams jock. In researching this game, I came across the oobg.com, who has said Ok. State will be 11-0 when they play against Oklahoma. All I can say about this team is O V E R R A T E D.

Lets see, Ok state started last year 7-0, but when you dissect that, they didnt really beat anyone during that strecth. The most impressive victroy was a 5 point win against Missouri. Thats a decent win, but Its not that impressive. Then came the Big 12 schedule, and no longer was Ok State playing a cupcake every week. What happened ? Ok. State was a Major disappointment. In fact, it fell apart.

When the schedule got tough, Ok State finished the season 2-4, winning during that stretch against 2 piss ass teams. Ok State lost every real test they had last year. And their defense ? It got exposed every time it played a two dimensional offense. They lost 3 of their last 4 games, and in those 3 losses, they gave up 159 points and lost by an average of 23 points per game.

Oklahome State to me, has been EXPOSED. This team will do great against weak opponents and 1 dimensional offenses like Georgia, but every time they play a strong offense, they get shredded. Houston will have a pretty easy time scoring against the Cowboys.

Houston has been preparing for this game since they started practicing again last month, the Houston coaches have been preparing for Months. Ok. State begins preparing for Houston today.

This is a major letdown game for Oklahoma State. They beat a IMO highly suspect Georgia team, and most would probably think Houston is an easy win. I promise, it wont be. Houston matches up way way way better against Ok. State than Georgia did. Houston has an amazing Offense, 2 dimensional. Strong running game and strong passing game. Ok. State has shown a definite inability to shut this type of offense down. Georgia on the other hand, plays strong defense, looks for turnovers and tries to win on Defense not offense. I cant count how many times I remember Georgia scoring 17 or less.

This is an entirely different game. Houston will score early and often. And right here we have another 15 point favorite, that will be hard pressed to win this game at all. They probably will, but they wont win by 15.

Any Thoughts ?

You really make an excellent argument to take this Houston Couger team +15! Well written anaysis!

Perhaps this will be an offensive shootout? :think2:

If that's the case, +15 is a GIFT! @):)

Maybe it will get steamed up to 16?

I initially thought of this as a letdown game for OSU. But I don't think it will be. After OU lost on Saturday night, it has to have this team believing that they are now the best team in this state and have a real shot to win the Big 12 South. Especially with Texas coming to Stillwater. I still think like you and the Pokes defense could be a little overrated after this Georgia win. But they did take a tough SEC team's best shot on offense and withstood it. This can be a big confidence builder for a program like OSU.

Having said that, I still can't say as I disagree with your nice writeup on this game. Houston has a very dangerous offense. Whether they can score 37 again on OSU I don't know. But I think the key to the game is if Houston can stop the Pokes running game. They gave up 56 to OSU last year. And they have only 4 defensive starters back this year. So this game might be a wait and see for me. Something tells me the momentum from last week will carry over for OSU. But I'm by no means 100 percent sure about it. That 66 may not be a high enough total for these two high scoring teams. Especially since they scored 93 last season.

Thanks.

If Bradford is OK, the Oklahoma is still by far the best team in the state. As the 20 point win attests. I may even put Tulsa in front of Ok State.

I like the over as well, but just dont play totals. Ok State will probably try to slow the game down. Try to run the ball a lot and keep Keenum off the field. That will keep the score down, but I think it plays right into the Cougars hands.

If someone wants a little insurance then I could see taking Houston and Over and surely at least one of those plays hits. Houston would only need to score 25-26 points to guarantee that at least 1 hits. I just dont see Ok State holding Houston to less than 30.

That said, I am just taking Houston. Too many times I would take the over as well and then Houston wins the game 37-27 and I give back the profit.

Gl to all.

I was leaning to Houston too because of a possible let down, however, I do not see how the Poke offense will be kept in check for 2 straight games.

I follow CUSA football very closely. Houston is supposed to be packing a very high powered offense and making a run for CUSA champion. I dont know about the defense except that its not bad either. I agree with the pick completely. GO COUGARS!:toast:

The squares are all on the same page (thinking letdown on OSU's part), therefore I wouldn't expect it to be bet up to +16. If anything, it'll go down to 14.5 or so by gametime. I believe this is a good spot to back Houston. You have to think that OSU was thinking about UGA all spring and summer long. Surely not Houston. Great spot here.

Would NOT touch Houston in this one, Okie State's offense gets hot and this one gets ugly REAL quick.... I'm not betting it either way, just saying I don't see much value in Houston this week.

I live in Houston guys, the offense is not going to be the problem it is defense. UH lost several guys from an already week defense last year. Anyone remember last year? UH up 16 - 14 at half and it ended up 56 - 37 OSU. WHile UH should be able to score, it will come down to defense. I would favor the over here in a high scoring affair. Over 66 here is a gift guys...

taking okstate again, I dont see a letdown at all. What some people are missing is that we are in a unique position for this program and everyone understand that this game is important. The letdown is good in theory, but this isnt like usc (a powerhouse) bringing in houston and just sleepwalking.

And im not trying to change your mind either, you may know 5 times more about this game than I do, but I do think I see many games on the board better than hu +15.

What I think:
osu scores at will
Houston scores but somewhere around 4 tds
This is homegame for osu
Osu in blowout

thats my thoughts on it, Gl with the bets

its hard to argue with your write-up. my only concern is houston going up a class in competition, but agree with the play.

also forgot to point out, houston starts a freshman at LT, Im thinking he has alot of problems playing at this level. Like I say, do what you will and what you think, but I wouldnt bet the house on houston unless someone has some info on the game(besides the letdown theory)

Hard to fault the OSU pick with defensive situation at UH. However, don't forget UH coach Sumlin was previously assistant coach at OU, so I am sure he will have his young team ready to play against his former nemisis team. I still believe all signs point to the over but I guess you can also argue if it goes over that OSU has a good chance of covering the 15...

I suck at totals , actually waiting to see if I like someones total picks here and then tail them for action, but anyways

I am getting 67.5 at my book, thats alot of points to sweat out, If I had to gun to my head I would say under, but am not much on total play. I just think with the fresh LT, Houston will not move the ball like everyone thinks. Hope I am right

it's not available at my book yet, but if it comes out at 67.5, I will be putting 5 units on under....
