Wade is a good defense coordinator and we Texans miss him.

They got hot and had a good night. They won't go down in history as one of the best ever though. Trust me on that. I am glad they made me some money
Let's see in the playoffs ... they held Pittsburgh to 16 points, New England to 18 points and the best offense in the league to 10 points. Two hall of fame quarterbacks and the league's mvp in three games ... ya, you're right their defense won't go down as one of the best ever. You're clueless ... needless to say you were on Carolina.

I was on Denver.

Great defenses "for the ages" in my mind '85 Bears, 2000 Ravens, 2014 Seahawks. These broncos were not on that tier. Stick to golf

You were on Carolina which means you lost your wager(s). Don't let the anger of your lost bet cloud your ability to recognize a great defense. They were great all year and the stats back that up. Roethlesberger, Brady and Newton took a beating in these games because of a relentless front seven and excellent secondary coverage. Stick to your quarter ante Monday night poker game.

P.S. Brady, Roethlesberger and Newton, combined, threw ONE touchdown pass vs. the Denver defense in those three playoff games while being sacked thirteen times.

It was obvious Bronco's "D" had Carolina confused and....... My

After thoughts......

Carolina wasted 50 seconds with 4th and 2 late in 4h on their own 35 and punting when trailing 16-10.

What did Carolina have to lose by Newton setting up for a quick snap possibly drawing an offside an getting a 1st instead of punting and continuing with the hurry-up vs. letting 50 ticks run off clock and maybe getting a FG to pull with-in 3 or a Bomb for the lead?

Also, why did Carolina give Denver the ball to start after winning flip?

These will be topics I see eventually around the table for those who say it wasn't the "D" that won the thrilling SB Shush()*

i will say that the Denver defense went on a amazing playoff run.

However i I wouldn't consider them G.O.A.T status .

... and you lost how much on your Carolina wagers? Amazing, how people on the wrong side of a wager are so astute and analytical when reflecting on how they lost.

YEah, props to the Denver D. Amazing they were good enough to compensate for (ironically) such poor QB play. It sucks history will remember Payton Manning more than this defense ... but that is life.

Manning probably did less to win a SB than any QB, ever.

I think this defense will never get (but should get) billing with some of the greatest. They were probably close to as good as te 14 seahawks or the 2002 Bucs. Probably not as good as the 85 bears or 2000 Ravens -- but maybe a top 5 defense.

Agree with this.

Denver certainly showed they are outstanding. Maybe not quite at the level of those 3 teams, but damn good. The game played out just as I thought it would, had Denver and Under......and I'm a Raiders fan.

Never easy giving THAT team props, but the defense was truly outstanding all year long. What puts them slightly below the greatest is the overall talent. Miller is awesome, and Phillips had a great scheme. But the greatest defenses had personnel that was great all over the field. That 85 Bears defense was absolutely loaded, as was the Ravens defense. Denver has some great ones, just not as many. Just my opinion.

Everyone can compare and have an opinion. What cannot be denied was that this defense was great on the biggest stage.

Top 5 for sure. Find a better left and right pass rusher on seattle, baltimore, or the bears in 85. Competition in the 80s sucked lol. Bmore saw rich Gannon and kerry Collins on the giants. Lets be serious now. The ravens d right now might of held Kerry collins to a shutout

All those defenses were great but Bears, Seattle, and denver are no question in the top 5 ever for their respected years.

Lol don't listen to the media! Big deal. Seattle held the highest scoring offense in league history (scored 106 more points than Carolina) and the 5 time league's MVP to 8 points.
