Wizzards +11 3 units.

3 units 3-0 +9
2 units 4-2 +3.6
1 unit 1-1 -.1
Bottom line (+12.5)
Winning days 5-0.

Like this scrappy improved Washington bunch. No matter if other cappers say this team lost easily to the Heat. That was not the case. It was a nailbiter, tied up until 2 minutes. Eddie Jones shot lights out in last 3 minutes, 4 treys and 1 bucket, 5 for 5. Bet that won't happen again. But if you look at Heat closely, they sure do not blow anybody out. They barely get leads and hold on. Sure they have the big fella and Wade, but basically they sold the farm, and their depth to get him. Depth covers, especially double digit faves. Revenge, just played each other, famialarity, and great matchups.

Let me tell you, this Wizard squad is a sleeper. After the game Van Gundy even said the Wizards are one of the best and deepest rosters in the East. And they can score. 100+ points a game. Jamison is a huge addition, and Arenas, Hughes. Hayes and Dixon are all averaging 15+ points a game. Tonight they get back Haywood, a player that missed last Heat game. They do not call him the Hulk for no reason. No he is not Journeyman. I think that is the end of the suspensions. This is the same team that beat the Grizz, in Memphis, in their home opener with 4 key players out. That is depth. They run the floor like a West coast team. They have skilled players, nice outside shooting and sweet .841 from the free throw line. No Shaq team will ever get near that. This is a team that may make the playoffs in the East. They may challenge top teams. But right now they are getting a lot of points, from a team they have several advantages over. Did I mention, they are good on the road?

Besides me missing the opener, 196, now that it is 206? Talk about a whiff. But many totals got bet down, so I was just observing. Thought 1, it is now bought out, no value exists. 2, it will get bet back down some before post. 3, the Kings are 10 to 15 points different at home, one of the largest home/away differences in the NBA. A lot of it is on the offensive Raptors, who have played all games at home. Kings played all 3 on road. If you were ever going to watch and learn, this is the spot. If you are leaning towards over, the ship left the dock without you. If you prefer the under, get that 206, or wait for a 206 1/2 to 207. If the 206 starts to vanish get it then. A total does not move 10 points without a buyback at the end.

Frog: Good thought on the Sac total. I missed the move. I took un 206.5 now. SIA has 204, but only for change. I believe you are right in it dropping back some. I'll do your thing ( hedge) and buy back 25-50% on the best ( late) over.

This may still produce a 5-point ( or so) middle.

Thanks,

Doug

Would this Frog be greedy enough for the M/L :bite1:

I also apologise for calling ACE a so-and-so in your thread. We go back a long way.I like to throw him a line every now and then to keep him on his toes. :kicking: His hearts in the right place but like all juveniles, needs to be reined in occasionally so his exuberance is kept in check.

Thanks for posting earlier as I was in never-never land when you posted last night 00.35 ish (GMT) I only check the sheep late on Wednesday onwards.

Best of luck tonight. :103631605

Under 206 1/2 Kings 1 unit

Numbers just do not support this high total. Plus, numbers across the board in NBA have been jacked way up, so swing time to unders is now in order. Original 196 makes a lot more sense. Raptors, offensive as they appear to be, now go on road, which make drop their 99 ppg some. But even at that they only allow 91 ppg, which is 190 ppg total. Not 206. Kings, who allowed 104 ppg on the Texas swing is slightly inflated from one OT game, and Mavs always light them up. But their offense is slumping, less than 95 ppg. Peja is cold, and their fg% is a weak .397. They are right at 199 ppg. Total should be 195 to 197. The 10+ points of steam is a lot of speculation. The Kings will shoot better at home. The Raptors will continue to shoot well, on the road. I am more impressed with their defense then offense. If they start force feeding CWebb down low, and he struggles, to make his ugly jumpers, this is a solid under. Also, perception is Kings ar e high scoring squad, from previous years. With Vlade being replaced by Osterfag, you lose a lot of offense and passing. When Webber came back, the numbers really dropped off, as did the spacing and ball movement. That in turn caused Peja to become unhappy, and really knocked his stride off. Would be a higher unit play, but questions marks exist about home opener for Kings, and first road game for Raptors.

Hawks +7 2 units

Everyone has seen what a disaster this Hawk squad is. But after 3 losses, against the Suns, Seahawks and Lakers, all on road, now they come home. For a home opener. They do have some name players, and might get a little respect at home. They face the LeBron Cavs. The Cavs are also winless, losing to Bucks, Heat and depleted Pacers. In my opinion, a softer sked. Should this winless team be laying over 6 on the road? This has trap written all over it. Boozer defection still haunting Cleveland, especially with the difference he is making in Utah. I really do not like playing home dogs if they do not realistically have a chance to win. The Clips had their chances, many chances to win last night. The Hawks should be in this until the end. Again, their are 4 home dogs tonight, I tossed other three. I am very selective. I will not play a team like the Hawks often, but this might be a spot for them. The winless Cavs and the price is right. Sorry Fish, dead against you here.

OF,
I'm on the Hawks as well at +7. I think that they will be in this one all night and may even pull out the win. I am also taking the over 188 in the game, as both teams have been giving up over 100 ppg. Good luck on the Wizards play, I just cannot bet against my Heat, especially becuase I will be at the game. I do think that you have the right side. I dont think that you will see as many points as last game at Washington because Coach Van Gundy knows that the Heat cannot run and gun with the Wiz and he will be looking to get Shaq more involved tonight. If it is a lower scoring game, the 11 points looks good. Once again good luck!

Awesome, wish I could join you at that game. What's up with Shaq? I was under the impression his minutes are limited because of his hammy? I also think the game will be much lower scoring, as it was actually to the Wizards style, and Jones will not be lights out again. Looks like Wade is the real deal, I liked him better than Carmellow and King James last year. Wizards will push the tempo, VG will try to stifle it. Again, enjoy the game, should be entertaining.

Frog: I guess I'm wrong on the middle opening up, looks steady, but that's OK.

I couldn't find any history of a 196, that must have been very brief. Olympic, maybe ? My guess is there isn't a ton of money on the low number. I'll take some back at 204 or lower, but no worse. I think this one wins.

OF,
Shaq is still nursing the injury, however, I think that he is feeling better as of late and I think that he will have play more minutes tonight. The game should be lower scoring for sure. As for Eddie Jones, I don't think that he will light it up again for a while. He has been dissapointing, especially in the clutch. But, he looked the best that I have seen him in a long, long time last game against the Wiz. He has been focusing more on the defensive end so far this year, as he is now the number 3 option offensively after Shaq and D Wade. As for Dwyane Wade, he is the real deal. Since game 1 last year, I had felt he was the best player on the Heat, better than Odom and Jones. He is an exceptional athlete and his jumper has somewhat improved this year. He can blow by ANYONE off the dribble and he has been absolutely UNGUARDABLE as of late. He has been getting to the free throw line more than 10 times per game. I truly believe that he will average better than 20 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds this year. Good luck on the Wiz tonight, I'll be rooting for the Heat to win by 10 or less. Lets go Hawks!

OF,

Nice hit on the Wiz. I cant believe the backdoor cover, as the Heat were killing them all game up 29 points. The Hawks suck. What a joke. They score 31 in the first quarter and 54 for the half and only score a combined 25 points in the second half. They cost me the over as well as Hawks +7. They suck and I will never ever ever ever bet on them again. Goes back to the old saying that you cannot expect a bad team to win you money. Anyway, congrats on the backdoor Wiz cover.

Yes, I am done with the Hawks as well. They were up at the half. My reason for losing, 13 more free throw attempts, with 15 more made. And it was not foul and shoot at the end. They either get no respect, or do not know how to draw fouls. Either way, screw them. Heat were pounding by 29, but they just do not care and Wizzards never said die. Was fortunate again, but can make a living on backdoors in the NBA. Hoping for that King under to make it 6-0 winning sessions. Was the first time this season Heat opened a large lead. They are not overated, but last year I was able to make a ton on them. Now they lay double digits. Last year would have been a 5 or 6. I envy you being able to go to the game.

For you middlers, 9 1/2 was available many places before post. The side and total both hit...
