The question is whether or not the officiating will be somewhat fair, just somewhat fair, for the finals. Whether the calls will not be one-sided in the Penguins favor like they've been for the first three rounds. That's what I'm concerned about at this time because I would hate to see the Stanley Cup Finals ruined.
I would guestimate that through the first three rounds of this postseason, the edge is clearly in Pissburgh's favor by a distinct two to one advantage and that's totally disgusting. How the league can possibly sit back and allow this one-sided fiasco to continue on through the finals would be a travesty to say the least.
The 'bush-league' officiating tactics are straight forward and quite simple. When the Penguins are in trouble, be it having a goal scored against them to put the opposing team ahead at anytime during the contest, be it the opposing team scoring a goal to tie the game at anytime, whenever or whatever, it doesn't matter, you can be rest assured the referees will intervene very quickly to enable Pissburgh to gain some sort of immediate advantage and that's the bottom line. If they don't capitalize on the first questionable powerplay awarded to them, they are soon provided with a two-man advantage, as was the case against the Flyers in game two of the opening round, to even the score or put them back in front.
It's that simple!
Now I'm sure Gary Bettman, referred to as the National Hockey League's 'dwarf', is fully aware that the public, other than Pissburgh supporters of course, has caught on to this ridiculous journey of officiating in the Penguins favor through the first three rounds of the postseason and if the guy has any brains at all, I'm quite sure he'll call the 'dogs' off for the final round against the defending champion Detroit Red Wings.
