NOBODY bet this, it's such an obvious bad line. Oh wait, BG is a good book and not a piece of shit like CBS.

-540 at Pinnacle now.

+475 is the best I can find elsewhere.

This is in now way a bad line from BG, and neither was CBS's line on Nadal.

Someone call Areeff and his buddies so we can have 8 more threads debating whether or not to pay off on a bad line.

Better yet, someone call Salt V and tell him there's an off line so he can call anyone who bets on it a scumbag thief. Because, according to his logic, there are no such things as scalpers or middlers, and every single book should offer the exact same line, and books should never have an opinion on a game or adjust their lines due to too much action on one side.

Thank you Kongen!

This is exactly what I mean in the other thread. Somebody, somewhere better come up with an objective mathematical definition of what constitutes a "bad line". Otherwise it will always be used against the player and never in his/her favor.

SunDevil,

I've said before that bad lines are like pornography, hard to exactly define but you usually know it when you see it. Areeff knew damn well the line was suspect and decided to take a shot. That's why he said he would have been "OK if they took it down before gametime." While I don't fully support CBS's actions, I don't support the players either. They are 50-50 at fault. I know some of the larger books may have said nothing...I know some smaller books that would have given him zero and the boot. CBS will end up somewhere in between. Guys who scalp professionally (and there are a bunch of them on this forum) would have never bombed that scalp without checking the line with the book and if that wasn't feasible due to the hour, then they wouldn't have taken the chance.

Senditin,

I hear where you're coming from, but I just reject the notion of the book getting a "free roll" on the player under any circumstances. If you don't notice your mistake until after tipoff then swallow your mistake like a man. If you didn't have the staff or resources to monitor your action before the game goes off, then it's your own damn fault for trying to cut corners yet leaving lines on the board.

fortunately for bluegrass this bet lost and noone will have to file a dispute. Maybe they should pull a BTJ and try to complain and get their losses back. ha ha(sarcasm)

This line was a 40c scalp but the cbs was a 75c scalp. woopie
