Greece played poorly against Spain, but they are a very good team that play together very often. All these guys know each other, so although they don't have the most individually talented players, they do have a very good team. Spain is arguably the second best team so losing to them is no big deal. Germany played probably the weakest team in the tournament in their first game. They have a decent team, but rely mostly on Dirk and Kaman. They have other decent players, but Greece is a better overall team. I'm thinking I'll be on Greece -8.
Germany shot 55% from 3 against Angola, and 59% overall. Very good numbers, but it came against a very weak opponent. I've only seen Germany play one decent opponent lately. That was against Croatia in a qualifying game last month and they shot under 40%, and 25% from 3 on way to a 6 point loss. Greece is a better team than Croatia. Germany also doesn't play very good defense, and Greece will expose that. I think there is just a difference between perception and reality right now because of who these two teams played in their first game. Germany got arguably the worst team in the tournament and took full advantage of that with a huge win. Greece got arguably the best team not named USA, and got shut down. I still think if those two meet up in the semis or quarters that Greece would give them a good run, and possibly even win though.
If you guys like Germany I would suggest you play Germany. One of the worst feelings you can get gambling is when you feel strongly about a game then change your pick because of somebody else, only to have your original lean win. I just think Greece wins by 8+.
