Olympic Ceremony Fake-Out

Two girls — one cute, one deemed less so — were part of a plan that fooled Olympic viewers.
BEIJING (AP)—One little girl had the looks. The other had the voice.
So in a last-minute move demanded by one of China’s highest officials, the two were put together for the Olympic opening ceremony, with one lip-synching “Ode to the Motherland” over the other’s singing.
The real singer, 7-year-old Yang Peiyi, with her chubby face and crooked baby teeth, wasn’t good looking enough for the ceremony, its chief music director told state-owned Beijing Radio.
So the pigtailed Lin Miaoke, a veteran of television ads, mouthed the words with a pixie smile for a stadium of 91,000 and a worldwide TV audience. “I felt so beautiful in my red dress,” the tiny 9-year-old told the China Daily newspaper.

I hear the opening ceremonies was a digital creation when they showed the foot prints. Fuck these fake olympics. What a crock of shit.

American Idol and the super bowl performers do not use other peoples voice for their performances. You missed the point entirely.

The Super Bowl anthem was lip-synched this year at least.

Can't blame them really. The same people that complain about this would have been the first people to call the other girl fat and ugly. It was the logical move from a business point of view.

Get over it. Remember when we had Desert Storm and Whitney Houstons historic and timeless performance of the Star Spangled Banner in the 94 Superbowl? That was lip sync'd too.

The other girl was not fat or ugly. Her teeth were not straight. Wow, I can hardly believe the state control commies feeding you what they want you to see and you accept it hook line and sinker. One newspaper wrote that the phony girl had a heart warming voice and is well on her way to becoming tomorrows star. I hope somebody breaks the news to that newspaper and the masses who read it that it was just an illusion.

I didn't miss the point. The point is, why not give us the correct people, flaws and all. C+C Music Factory did the same thing in their videos by showing a different "singer" than the real one, who was very large.
