Let's talk Italy/Lithuania. Recognize you have a future, but line seems high to me at +9. Noticed you took a shot at it being 6 or so. Now we're talking about two international teams that know how to play this style of game. Thoughts?

yes...but when you hear statements like this... over & over & over again... from people who reside in the same country... people who think there is no world outside of their country...

then, ultimately what happens is the rest of the country gets a bad rap...

kind of like here in Canada, we say that everyone from New Brunswick is stupid... of course it is not actually true... but they have such a funny accent... & many of them are less educated than the rest of the Country... sot they all get the label.

I see 9 1/2 also. I could hedge a bit with points, which I prefer over $L. But if I had no future, I would pass. Lithuania just rolling, current European champs soon to be playing for gold. Italy nailed stiff US, but join the crowd. Would be a force for me. Argentina +7 1/2 was the play. This game is a view and learn...But whatever you decide Ted, best wishes and good luck...OF

You are right Ted, my call on this line was off, and it has seen some downward move. IMO, the line a 2-3 high. But adjust for now best team, current run and you can add a point or two. Opponents know each other, so famialarity a plus. Points somewhat value, but aside Arg all faves, a 4-0 last round. My number was low, offshore high. Should be 8.

Like I said, I've only played against the USA team and none of the international match-ups, so this would be a first. On paper, my lean is to Italy plus the points. Most likely, I'll pass and watch for anything to develop for the medal games.

That was good as I cashed on game 1/2 B play. Due to loser 2nd half hedge, - juice. Cashed US not to win gold. Small chalk. Moved along Argentina to Gold, total position 8.46-1. Taking Italy small +9 1/2. And +9 ev. Lots of work today...Best Wishes...OF

Let this be a lesson to all of us,
handicap the team and don't let emotions and talent get in the mix.
Several of us new when the US squad was announced there was no way they would win the gold, and if you watched any of their games at all you could tell they were outplayed when the talent level wasn't ridiculously out of proportion.
Hope those that faded the US made a good sum and those that were blinded by patriotism and talent chalk it up to a lesson learned.

If USA plays Lith for the Bronze, Lith should be favored. The USA will not be motivated and Lith would be thrilled to beat the USA twice and win the bronze.

Not so sure about this one. Think you are right on the money regarding the line, and although the USA team may be disappointed not playing for the gold, believe the Lithuania team may be a bit discourage themselves having lost to Italy. Kind of see the situational aspect as a wash. By game time, the USA team may muster up enough pride to play decently particularly in light of not wanting to embarass themselves further by not medaling at all. On top of that, as I said earlier, just can't get out of my mind the pace that these two played at in the last game and the 9 point lead that the USA team built before blowing it late on some excellent shots from Lithuania. This one looks close to me. The gold medal game line should be very interesting.

I think US is failure now, no redemption for Bronze. Who cares about the Bronze? Gold or nothing. However will mean a lot for Lithuania to bounce back, get a medal, the usual one for them. Also they can prove beating US was no fluke. And US best effort vs Lithuania, still lost, offset my another clunker today. Motivation and crowd edge to Lithuania, with possible zebra influence, as this squad gets zero respect from refs. In my old pal David was there to watch this debacle. Hey everybody, you are as good as us. David my man, you are a genius. Gold game is bad for me now. Could have got Italy +4.65 $L today. Oops. So cashed today and hedge tomorrow. As far as a line, I do not see Italy being disrespected so bad, again. But fundamentally Argentina is much more sound. Italians hit the 3's, they get gold. As far as speculation line, my thought is 2 +/- 1/2. Would not surprise me if they put out too high on Italy. Again. Very tough game IMO. Might just hedge out. Have to get Lith future back and really want to lock in profit for Argentina. Never even priced Italy, even after waxing US. Oops. Still got good value back on Lith already. So all else is gravy.
