Any thoughts on Billingsley tomorrow? 3 starts in a row with straight filth.

Both Billingsley and more importantly, the Dodgers appear to have the Padres number in this series. When handicapping, it's not all about the pitcher but how the teams are playing as well. I would say for tonight, the Dodgers definitely have the edge. Could it be the Padres are starting to feel the heat from the Giants? Best of luck whatever you decide to do! :toast:

i'd love to see lincecum pick up tomorrow where he left off last outing. let's see this boy show his true stuff against atl tomorrow !!

I would as well! He's faced Atlanta seven times, far less often than he sees the Giants' NL West rivals, but has made quite an impression. Lincecum is 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA against the Braves, striking out 54 in 46 2/3 innings.

The Braves will see a slightly different delivery from Lincecum than the one they're used to. He went to a revised wind-up before Friday's start against the Dodgers after some recent inconsistency, bringing both hands over his head.

"It's something I did before (in college) when I was dealing with a control issue," Lincecum told the Giants' official website. "I figured I'd go back to it and it felt pretty comfortable considering I haven't thrown with it all year."

Best of luck to you today! :toast:

OMT, as you are well aware in the bay area they talk a lot about Lincecum's far better numbers in the cooler climate of the west coast. Any concern today that it is going to be 95 degrees with humidity today?

This is what I like most about the RX, when our posters/handicappers think outside the box. Very astute question. Actually, when you watch Tim, he is very calm and poised on the mound and takes a bit of time between pitches. He is neither a fast worker, nor slow worker but just right IMHO. He doesn't tend to work up a sweat even in hot and humid conditions away from AT&T Park. His slender build has little body fat and his motion is not violent. If anything, I believe the heat and humidity could work to his advantage as I have always noticed that he pitches better in the warmer weather as he tends to loosen more quickly. Best of luck to you tonight whatever you decide! :toast:

Good luck to you Ted, even though it's against my Braves, I will tail you on this one!

Thank you. A very good 4 game preview of a possible playoff match-up and the Giants throw their 4 best starters at the Braves. Two quality teams should make for some very good baseball starting tonight. Best of luck to you tonight! Hope to see you at the cashier's window! :toast:

You're welcome. My pleasure. As for Texas, really a tough call for me. Don't really have an opinion either way in that game. Best of luck whatever you decide to do tonight! :toast:

Yes Jordy! One of the most common mistakes handicappers make is zeroing in on the pitching match-ups and making their decisions solely on their interpretation of the two pitchers. The game is far more then that. Give me a confident hot team any time that is playing fundamentally sound, hitting, pitching, and fielding and I'll ride them until they cool down.

Injury Updates And Lineups

SportsOptions reporting Giants shortstop Juan Uribe (hamstring) probable for tonight's game and is showing in the starting line-up. He did pinch-hit last night. The Giants lineup is at full strength. While the Braves are still missing starting second basemen Martin Prado.
