Oldmans Pick For Saturday 9/25/04

First want to state that I am not particularly fond of this weekend's card so tread carefully here. That being said, decided to post this release early as the line is currently bordering on a key number and thus the early take. I may possibly be back with one or two additional plays but, frankly, am uncertain at this time. Hence,

1* Alabama/Arkansas Under 49.5

NCAAF Record YTD: (9-4)(+4.60)

Plays are rated 1*-5*.

Guess the new software doesn't allow for editing the original thread after a certain time, therefore I'll put my additional play here. Ted I love the Bama under. I was eyeing it at 44.5, then it went to 44 and I thought damn I shoulda played it. Next thing I know it is 49.5 and I thought what in the world happened? So I watched it for about a day and decided to go on and grab it at 49.5. Anyway I think it has topped out at 49.5 and I wouldn't be surprised to see it around 44 around kickoff.

Thanks OMT...Always good to get your opinion..Arizona is very solid defensively, but just can't put the ball in the endzone yet..I had them last week UND vs Wisconsin, and also had them UND vs Utah..I will play UND on AU til they beat me...GL and thanks for the writeup!

The Wisconsin/Penn State game was a tough call as I can make a solid argument for both sides, thus it is a pass for me. Glad you agree on the Alabama/Arkansas game to go Under.

Couldn't agree with you more. Looks like two defensive squads with limited offensive ability. Hopefully, the game plays out as envisioned.

Decided to add my one remaining play as suspect the line on this game will be going in one direction only, thus will lock it now. I will have no additional plays. Hence,

I also like PSU-Wisc under 39. W/O Davis Wisc. has few if any offensive options but thay DO have a very good D especially @ Camp Randall. So basicly Wisc. can`t score and PSU won`t. Like your totals, SC concerns me a little but will look more closely.

I see the total on ark/ala rising, 51.5 currently, does this add much value to the play?

To answer your question, if you like the Under 51.5, this adds excellent additional value as 51 is another key number as well as 52. In all honesty, believed this line would fall below 47, which is why I posted early at 49.5. Nothing is a certainty in this business and no one can correctly predict line movement or the outcome of any game 100% of the time. I am still comfortable with the play and for those who waited and are getting additional value, even better. Will be interesting to see how this game plays out. I held my under postion at 49.5. I too was dead wrong about the movement on this line. Gotta respect the move but I still like the play. Should be an interesting game to watch.
