Good luck to you as well. Of the four selections I made yesterday, the hardest was choosing Philadelphia over Carolina. In my write-up, I indicated that on paper the match-up looked close and normally in that case I would take the points as value, but I let what I perceived to be the intangibles sway me.

I can tell you that I am already down on Carolina +7 to win the Superbowl. I am very strong on this play. It is unusual for me to go in this early, but I expect the line to move down as game day approaches. I believe the Panthers can actually win this game outright. I believe the line to be significantly wrong as the books are making the public pay a heavy price in backing the Patriots which they expect will occur. The line should be no greater than 4. Thus, in this spot, we have a quality match-up with great value. I know you are a Panther fan, so enjoy!

yes ted, im on the panthers already. i share the opinion that 7 is too high.. i think this is a great matchup with teams that mirror each other to a certain degree.. rb/wr/d line advantage carolina, qb/lb/db advantage ne, kicking game a tossup.. in what many consider a boring matchup, i think we may get a great game, if delhomme doesnt make turnovers.. he is in a situation where he may just be asked to not lose the game -- instead of having to win it.. many props to new england as well, i think this is what is good about the nfl and sports in general,, you have 2 quality TEAMS, with the big emphasis on the word TEAM..

any comments on College of Charleston, BYU or Utah tonight?

Glad to see we're on the same page for the Superbowl. I expect to see a great game as well. For the purest of football this will not be boring. I look forward to seeing a battle of wills that day with neither team backing down. Should be great viewing.

As for tonight's hoops, I have no opinion on College of Charleston or BYU but have a lean toward Utah due to the injury to Colorado State's center Matt Nelson. The bigs of Utah could be pretty well uncontested inside tonight. It comes down to how comfortable I am laying 13.5 on a team that uses a half court set and doesn't run a lot. Takes a while to cover the spread sometimes in these types of scenarios. We'll see, I might add later as this game goes off late.

Ted we both on UCONN and thats makes me feel good. Good Luck to us getting it tonight. Aloha CC.

BTW, I wanted to get your opinion on half time teasers using 3 pts. I have been playing more halftime and first half plays more often this year in FB and BB. But I have also fell victim to losses of 1-2pts on several occasions. I was thinking this extra points could help to eliminate this. I saw it offered at Millenium. Thanks.

Good luck tonight as well.

As for 3 point halftime teasers, like other plays, it depends on the situation and value. Overall, not nearly as valuable or consistent as full game teasers, but there are times when you might consider them, more so in the second half then the first half. If you like something in the second half but can't quite get the line value you want, a teaser could be of value. Millenium has very good vig for teasers particularly 7 pointers. Hope this helps you a little.
