Coming off a 2-4 day yesterday so no signs of improvement, however, today's match-up between Duke and Wake Forest has been one I have been waiting for since the pre-conference games when I really liked what I saw in the Deamon Deacons. Honestly, it was not a surprise to me that this team beat North Carolina. Duke is coming off blowing Maryland off the court while the Deamon Deacons are coming off a home loss to Virginia Tech. This is reflected in the line in my opinion, as Duke has been installed the favorite in this game providing value to the conference home dog.

On the floor, Duke relies on excellent ball rotation, 3's by Singler, Henderson, Scheyer, Smith and even Paulus off the bench. However, this team is weak in the middle with Zoubek and aren't a particularly strong rebounding team. The Blue Devils are an excellent defensive team which will keep them in all their games. Meanwhile, Wake Forest is led by point guard Jeff Teague but what is little known is that their top 5 scorers all are shooting over 50% for the season as is the team as a whole. Inside the Deamon Deacons are extremely athletic and pound the boards and get second chance points. Believe they will have a distinct advantage inside tonight. Both teams shoot over 70% from the free throw line so that should be a wash unless one team happens to get a significantly higher number of attempts. As to home court, fully expect assistance from a passionate Wake Forest faithful tonight and expect that to affect the shooting percentage, particularly the 3's, for Duke. As a side note, should this play not win tonight, and there are no guarantees, I think it appropriate for me to banish myself from the College Hoops Forum and remain in the Tracker Forum for the balance of the regular season and only return when the Conference Tournaments get underway. I made this play last night. Hence,

5* Wake Forest +2 (-110) 5Dimes

Year To Date Record: 53-71-3 (-77.65)

5* (2-3)(-6.50)
4* (3-5)(-10.00)
3* (48-63-3)(-61.15)

Good Luck Everyone!

How do you rate your plays? What's a 1* and so on?

I rate my plays 3* to 5*. I have dropped the 1* and 2* plays. Had a very nice football season in both College and Pro but have been struggling miserably in hoops, both College and Pro this year. You can check my record in the Tracker Forum for all 4. 3* plays will generally finish around 50% or so, 4* plays around 60%, and 5* plays above 65%. Most plays are 3* and there are much fewer 4* and 5* plays. As you can see above, this year in hoops these percentages are not being achieved but football season they were exceeded.

How much do you bet on your 3*, 4*, and 5* plays?

I hope you can understand that it wouldn't be appropriate for me to discuss the amount I wager. Suffice it to say that I have been in this business 38 years and am still very heavily involved in no small scale. I started when I was 22 and am now 60, so my entire adult life, I have been handicapping sports and horse racing as well as betting in most casino games, i.e. craps, blackjack, etc. as well as playing live table poker, not online.

Completely understand Ted. Not a problem. Wasn't really trying to find out how much you bet because it doesn't matter. Worded the question wrong, which is something I rarely do.

WTF kind of question is that? I expected to see the number of posts to be around 5 when i saw the question. C'mon dude.

I worded it the wrong way. Simmer down. I don't have to explain shit to you but what I was trying to figure out was, how big of a play a 5* is for him. I looked his post over again and realized it's his biggest.

I don't tail anyone on here, just getting an idea of what you consider a "big play".

Best of luck.

That's good. The 5* is the highest rating for any of my plays but it doesn't necessarily mean that I play all 5*'s the same amount. For the purpose of the forums, they are used as "units" for record keeping. This game rates a strong play, however, I wager far less in hoops than in football.
